>>plus baggage for a weekend trip
>>can be an older car (1985 and younger)
>>reliable for long distance trips
>>decent minimum of 135 hp

What a surprise.
for 3.5k you kinda take what you can get

it can be very messed up i really don't care
just needs to be long enough to sleep in it and a sunroof.
Mercedes W124 T
They're pretty much unkillable. They don't rust. They are comfy af. The old diesels will even run on vegetable oil without complaining.
Plus they're dirt cheap.

I'd look into old Volvo wagons, particularly the 740 and 240. I'd also look into a 2.0L or 2.2L Vectra wagon if FWD doesn't bother you. Bonus points if you manage to get one with the Z22SE engine, known in America as the L61.

>no turbo
why
if you really dont want turbo you can pick up a 16V 740 GLE, they made around 160.
only certain years had the 16V though, i think 88-90?
> no turbo
Why? Turbo is superior in every way
>>16654984
thought about something like this yeah
>>16654989
Yeah I love Volvo, my grandad had a 740, but i think a vectra would be a bit too small to sleep in it..
But FWD really doesn't bother

I don't like the sound
and I don't like to take care of an extra part

You have to admit the market is pretty limited when you search with these specifications.
The only thing I can come up with that is not a Volvo or a W123/124 and larger than a Vectra is the Opel Omega Caravan.
Those can't be that expensive either.

Of course, but i am looking for some opportunities.
As you can see, I don't really have any special wishes. And I can do a lot myself.
It could be an asian car as well.
Just asking for ideas and something like experiences

>It could be an asian car as well.
The problem is Asians don't like making big cars, especially wagons, so you can pretty much rule them out.
I think if you folded the seats down in a Vectra wagon, you'd have plenty of room.

Sad but true, there are some but not many..
I will take a closer look at some dealership!
Because it has to be comfy with some baggage in the car.

The Accord wagon is smaller than the Vectra wagon...

>doesn't like turbo sound
>doesn't know turbo rebuilds are easier than alternator rebuilds
keep cucking yourself yuropeen
