So far they are lacking, when compared to gasoline. I'm interested to see how the Samsung SDI 21700 cells will perform. But knowing it's Lithium, there cant be a fundamental difference.

As for the Tesla, company is doing good work in advancing the technology, by sucking out rich early adopters, but that's about it. Sometimes i wonder if they're more advertising than developing.
