Anybody heard anything about the new 2017 Husqvarna 701 bike?

6 more hp, 3 more torque and 1L larger tank. I run the 701 wiki. 76whp with intake exhaust and tune from Pirate Racing.

Also good luck getting one. I reserved mine 5 months in advance and almost didn't get one.

Looks pretty slick desu a powerful yet small dirtbike would be good

701 Enduro exists, isn't small though. FE501 fits that bill better.

It was over $12k, dealer had a lot of fees and no room to negotiate due to high demand. You can swap the wheels both ways, used 690 Enduro wheels will run you $900 and all you need to fit them is stock rotors and 2mm spacers for the front caliper. Enduro to SF is even easier but has smaller brakes and different suspension and fork angle.

Get the version that fits more than 50% of your riding.

Do you have any experience on the 500exc or FE501 series? I basically want a bike to fuck around on and get my thrills on and I am hesitant that the 701 will not be as "on edge" as a 500 bike. However it also comes with the added reliability and maintenance intervals.

Just get a 300 2 stroke. Need to do a top end once a year but those are easy. Torque and throttle response on a 2 stroke will always be more intense than a 4t

Not personally, but if you want to DD or take it on the highway or do adventure riding the 701 will likely be preferable. For legit dirt bike riding or strict hooning the 501 may be better. The 501 has linkage rear suspension and the EXC has PDS or whatever. I'd prefer linkage for performance applications.
