Golf 2016. There's a lot of reports of this error for different makes dating back to at least 2015 and very little helpful information on what causes it and how to solve it. I've been through it all, updating apps on the phone, using different cable, changing time settings on the phone and head unit, etc. No joy.

It just stopped working one day, it was fine in the evening the previous day, next morning it said fuck off even though I made no changes on the phone. Some 3 months later same happened with the wife's phone, which makes me think it's on the phone side, but she didn't change anything either (we have auto updates and other shit off). We don't have an iPhone to test with Apple Connect or whatever that option is called. Shit's frustrating.
