I guess now is better than never; a full chronology of my ticketing experiences:

Age 20
Have driven two different cars over three years for a total of roughly 60,000 miles.

#1:
>Pulled over on major interstate highway around 6pm, tags are expired.
>Warning for tags, but had just turned 18 and un-renewed license so I got a citation.
>Stupidly, I paid for the ticket (thereby admitting guilt) and now owe the state $100+ each year for invalid license.

COST: ~$500

#2:
>Pulled over in speedtrap, going 75 in a 60. >Citation for speeding; additional for DWLI
>Called the judge, he ripped it up for me. >Additional fine for driving while license invalid because apparently there was some additional fine that went under the radar and went unpaid. Got it fixed.

COST: ~$150

#3:
>Disco lights on college campus, roughly 2am.
>Buddies in the car, just picked up some fast food, no reason to be pulled over; not speeding.
>Cop states that I failed to use my turn signal. Follows up by asking if we have been smoking any weed
>Car is full to the brim with nerdy idiots, giggling at the thought of even owning illicit materials
>Cop lets us go when he can smell the virginity reeking from the cabin

COST: $0, cool points -10

>Fly by explorer at 45, see him even before he hits the lights
>Pull over, confess my stupidity, praying for a break
>Black cop says a total of two things during the ENTIRE engagement:
>1. "My name's officer Roberts. License and regs."
>2. "Sign here"
>Ended up taking driver's ed and clearing record

COST: $100, can no longer use Driver's Ed

#5:
>Racing M5 through empty neighborhood developments around 2am with girlfriend
>Stop at a stop sign, M5 driver looks uneasy
>Spy a cop across the intersection, lights off, no radar on.
>Panic and make totally illegal U-turn, get flashed with discos
>Officer is kind, verbally warns me for illegal u-turn after I explain that I was confused by the neighborhood and was looking for another because of a birthday party
>Kindly points me in the right direction
>Returns with my ID and insurance, looking very upset
>"Son, it says on my computer that your license is invalid"
>Go through the whole process of explaining and trying to understand why my license is POSSIBLY FUCKING invalid again
>"It looks like you need to pay a surcharge, you were caught with DWLI earlier...?"
>Demands that I get it fixed, lets me go home because girlfriend did not know how to drive manual

>Take my frustration to the court
>Have to settle with court, learn about the need to pay surcharges for three years if I want to maintain license validity.
>Defer the disposition of my second DWLI, 60 days good driving and I was clear.

COST: ~$350 and all of my honor

With how loud and how often my FiST exhaust pops and crackles it's only a matter of time. The owner of the exhaust shop is great though and would just write that I got it fixed if I get a fix it ticket.
