This is basically true of any car/truck that can be optioned with an auto or a manual. Even DCT's aren't immune, Volkswagon gave the DCT in the recent GTi advantageous gear ratios so it would be faster than the manual. Car companies know there's very few drivers left whom are truly proficient at driving a manual, they're ultimate goal is to save money by selling cars with PRNDLs only, hampering the manuals with shitty electric throttles (looking at you Subaru) and/or other handicaps helps this goal.
