Around the same age I realized mechanics are just a diamond dozen group of shitheels who's only real credentials are being high speed parts replacers/conmen.

As far as engine swapping goes, when I realized it's cheaper to sell your car with the shit engine and buy one with the good engine than to swap - or basically when my parents stopped being in control of my car.
