Is there any reason not to buy this car as a daily? All of its problems seem easily fixable.
Cost of the parts is pretty much the only issue for the majority of people
Considering you do your research properly, and if you have the money to spare, sure - by all means, go ahead. Hell, if I wasn't poor, I'd be getting an E36 aswell.

Thanks for the heads up guys, I will be sure to look into my finances so I dont go broke over a car.

Don't look at your finances, go look at Rockauto and compare prices to common items. Brake pads/rotors, struts, etc. It's not that expensive. These people chiming in about how expensive they are to maintain have never owned one, or four.

Thats bullshit and you know it, these DOHC engines were one of the most stable engines with almost no failure rate, as long as we are talking about 236kW in-line 6 version (Ive seen some swapped M3s) thanks to the multiple leading chains with recommended CHECK at 500 000 Kilometers and recommended CHANGE at 1 000 000 Kilometers, you got almost no necessary investments (ofc you still need to take care of brakes, oil, clutch from time to time) but it is still better investment than in some outdated-tech american "classic"

Maybe he meant wearable parts like brakes, suspension, clutch..
OEM, or OEM quality can be more expensive than others.

consumables aren't expensive, replacement parts are.
gotta look after the cooling system and every e30-e36 owner should replace the entire system when buying on unless everything has already been replaced.
bushings generally aren't in good condition either which need replacing.
sure maintenance isn't expensive but sorting problems that the car comes with can be. bloody reliable and cheap therafter but not so much when they are bought
