Hey /o/, today im checking out a 1971 Mach 1. The guy says that he payed $30,000 for the paint job alone. He says it was so expensive because he did it at a dupont shop with their paint. Ive never heard about a paint job going for more than 10k is this guy bullshitting me? I have a 1972 mach 1 that i got for $6,500 (project). He also says the car is valued at $110,000 which also sounds like bullshit.

Only way to know for sure is he provide receipts. Maybe a $30k car at most. 1971-74 mustangs have lower value than the earlier ones.

Because different shops charge differently. He might have wanted all the bare metal painted and did no prep work himself. A lot of the cost is the labor from disassembling it and putting it back together.
