Hello /o/ I'd like to install a GPS/Backup Cam into my car (preferably right in the dash). Whats the cheapest decent one I could get?
My car is a 1998 Ford Escort, just got it for free, 15k miles :).

Nah, it was given to me by my 93yr old grandma, who stopped driving 3 years ago. She literally went to the grocery store and back with it, nowhere else. I even went with her to buy it when I was 6.
You know any good GPS/Backup Cams btw?

What about something built into a double din stereo? That way you're not trying up more real estate on your center dash.

Probably lots of carbon buildup.

Is carbon buildup a big deal? What should I do about it?

That would work fine. Any specific suggestions?
I had a 97 and 99 escort, fun little cars
You can only install a single din stereo, so if you want any kind of screen you'll have to get one of the head units with a flip out or detachable screen. Depends how much you want to spend, cheap and decent doesn't usually go hand in hand, but you can get a pyle or boss for around $100.
For just adding navigation, a good dash mount for your phone might be a better solution. And another option to consider for a backup cam is the rear view mirror ones that can be had from $30.

I'm thinking you'd have to mod your own, a single din dash kit is all they sell.

seafoam it and get it on the highway

Thanks for your advice. I am will check out the brands that you showed me. Before starting this thread i didnt even know the difference between double and single din lol.
I am willing to spend up to 250 for something than meets my exact needs if you have any other suggestions.

kill yourself. just get a mount for your phone. if you need a backup cam in an escort you shouldn't be driving.
