Hook turns

Why don't we have u-turn lanes in America. On some streets I feel the left lane is congested with cars because of difficulty with u turns

German here, never seen a hook turn for cars before. For bicycles it's basically a glorified double pedestrian traffic light.

The worst thing is that litteraly no one other than women, tourists and old people drives slower than 150 in the right lane

We don't have those in Canada anywhere as far as I know. It's kind of clever, but I assume the intersection has to be set up for this (more room in front of cross traffic stop line in order to park your car/get out of the way).

Though side impacts will likely increase since you can't see the blonde in a Suburban running the red behind you, running into your driver's door, and putting you and your car into a coma.
