#2 Moisture contamination and too long between oil changes

#5 Possibly more moisture contamination, possibly a shit
#6 Ex race bike, guy lugged the motor alot, possible oil starvation, still motor failure though.

>DRZfag talking to himself because he ha lost the argument and has nothing to support his bullshit

The following has been determined and proven in this thread:
Fact: WRR is lighter and better than DRZ's in every single way
Fact: DRZ's are fragile and cannot handle normal every day use without blowing up
Fact: WRRs are smaller lighter and more modern bikes that are also more durable and able to stand up to abuse DRZs couldn'st dream of
Fact: DRZs are pigfat and blow up before their first valve adjustment
Fact: WRR's have 26,000 mile valve adjustments, which is right after the motor is broken in.
>>

But really though.

The drz is low on power and way heavy.

Prefer bikes with fairings

Realistically, how much more nuts is a 1000 over a 600? Insurance costs and purchase price differences aside, am I being unreasonable with being scared about 1000 and their ability to murder me? Or can both classes of bike kill me just as quickly and I should just get something like a fireblade and be done with it all.

Aside from the perceived murder factor, I'm hesitant about 1000 bikes as I doubt I would actually use all the power as I only do twisties and have never tracked.

>Realistically, how much more nuts is a 1000 over a 600?
about 50-60 more nuts to the wheel.

Practically you'll be hard pressed to tell the difference in a 600 vs 1000 in a roll on race to 60-70mph. From there the 100 should start walking the 600 hard.

The 1000 will 'feel' faster tooting around town as they have a much stronger midrange where on a 600 you have to work for the acceleration and downshift a bit.

Really for all practical purposes a 1000 is not going to net you substantially better all out performance than a 600 in the riding envelope you're likely to take it. A a good 600 will also handle better/easier.
On the other hand in day to day riding a 1000 will feel peppier and faster and will be overall much easier to ride and attain high speeds, for better or worse.

Realistically I think a 1000 makes a better street bike for this reason so long as you can keep yourself in check. a 600 has a more track appropriate powerband and you will learn more hustling a 600 around a track while shifting appropriately to keep the motor in it's sweet spot. On a 100 you're more likely to just be lazy and leave it in 3rd to motor out of corners at lower engine speeds.

Reall just preference. a 600 or a 100 will get you killed pretty quick, a 1000 will get you to Captain Insano speeds above 100mph much faster, but by that point you'd already be a gonner too on a 600 acting equally stupid. A 1000 is also more likely to catch you out with overwhelmed rear traction in a corner (read high-side) where a 600 you'd typically have to be trying or being really stupid on the throttle to accomplish the same result.

>>16552774
750's are probably the perfect size really for a street ridden sport bike.
Plenty of midrange for motoring around town.
More than enough power at the top for hauling ass.
Dimensions and weight close to/same as a 600.
Doesn't leave as much on the table wasted as a liter bike power wise on the street.

It's just a pitty that Suzuki is the only company still making them.

But really, in a vacuum a 600 has loads more midrange than you really need to haul ass on the street and can generate more top end speed than you really need. Getting and claiming you need anything more than a 600 when it comes to peak power you are just trying to wave your tiny peen around.

Buying a larger bike for a more liveable/potent midrange is 'almost' an acceptable excuse.

people who buy new sportbikes are always after the 'new best thing'. They want the biggest bestest horsepowers with the newest gizbangs and doodads. only the 600cc and 1000cc sportbike segments are providing that currentls. Until recently only really the 1000cc bikes, 600's have been stagnant for a very long time.

750 segment with zero competition is typically just a 'me too' based of the 600 from Suzuki. And pricing wise people are generally just going to buy the 1000cc bike if they're going to be paying that much. Kinda the same way nobody buys small trucks anymore. small trucks are mid size trucks now that cost more than the entry price for a full size. People just buy the full size for all the wiz bang.

Vtec engines suck bbc. Its just an 8 valve engine below 6k. While the non vtec 800 is 16 valves all the time.

>>16552832
More valves does not equate to more power at all RPM.

It runs 8 valves at lower rpm because the motor will make more power with 8 valves at lower rpm than with 16.

The entire premise behind vtec is tuning the valve opening to the appropriate amount of flow needed to make powwer for a given rpm. Thus avoiding the compromise between a high RPM breathing engine that makes power up top but lacks midrange and a lower rpm breathing engine that makes a stronger midrange but is choked up top.

I have. feels like a barely perceptible hitch in power in an otherwise completely linear powerband. No real surprises or anything that's going to kill you.

There are more violent variations in power on a 600 supersport's powerband than you'd find ona VFR800 and no one is claiming a modern 600 is trying to kill you in a turn.

That has nothing to do with the VFR's motor characteristics. It's a 500lb sport touring bike. Riding it like anything other than a 500lb sport touring bike is stupid. That said 500lb sport touring bikes can and do handle pretty decent. VFR800 is no exception.

Have you ever considered that maybe you are... you know... may you're just a ... shit rider?

any italians here? is it possible for a scottish guy to buy a motorbike in italy without residence? i have codice fiscale, and i've just made the deposit. obviously the sales guy said it was all okay when i asked him if it was possible, but just this morning the dealership called me asking for my residence/permesso di soggiorno. in the end they said they will try to register me with my passport/codice fiscale, but i'm worried it wont work.

So /dbt/, I don't know shit about any vehicles.
I don't know what makes a bike good overall or what makes a bike good specifically for my purpose. I'm a 5'9 74kg athletic manlet, I'd imagine that would limit my choices.
Here's how my commute goes, keep in mind that I'm a dirty third worlder from the Philippines.
>daily
7km
>occasionally (think weekends, not often)
14km
>very rarely (if I want to go inna woods)

Is the FZi ok? Looks wise, I would love it more if it had a circle headlight.

I know I could just get a scooter/underbone/whatever but I see those all the time[by all the time I really do mean ALWAYS when I'm on the road] and quite frankly they look disgusting.

Everything is fine except for the headlights. I fucking that headlight shape. If all motorcycles came with round headlights stock I am 100% sure all wars will end and no one will starve anymore.
That said, 2nd hand bikes are completely hit or miss, no? I have a friend who is a complete motorhead, if I go for 2nd hand and bring him along to test and look around I should be fine right?

Round headlights are old school hipster faggotry but each to their own. You could probably swap the stock headlight for a round one very easily. And yeah having a friend who knows their shit come with you will help when buying 2nd hand.

Dirt bikes (plated or unplated) are expendable. Expect them to grenade, have a spare engine, problem solved. It's the price of performance, not that the bikes are shit. One-lunger strung out lightweight engines gonna die. Get over it and have your wallet ready. Speed costs money. How fast do you want to spend?
>>
>>16552158
>Bikes are trash

Only dirt bikes but that's not really trash, just part of life's little tradeoffs. Single cylinder engines making any horsepower die early and often. That's why your race team keeps spares in the trailer.
>>

Bikes, and carbs. are specific. If the proven jet change on your carb requires nothing but jets, then do that.

If ever asking a specific question, YEAR, MAKE, MODEL not 4chan "bike". You should probably lose the habit of referring to your motorcycles by anything other than a phrase which indicates at least their make and model.

"DRZ" or "WR" conveys information, much like "grenade". "DRZ (displacement)" is even more useful. English is fundamental.
