how in the holy living fuck do you manage a 5->1. I mean a 5->2 makes sense but how the fuck 5->1

Nah faggot
N > 6th
I once somehow knocked the transfer to N while going from 5th to 4th... thought I'd completely lost the propshaft
But seriously, how can you shift from 5th to 1st. In my IV Golf you literally can't shift that shit. If you try, there is like a barrier, blocking the gear stick going in to 1st or 2nd
>>16550098
Is that even possible? Most shifters are gated so you have to come into R from the center point

Even if they aren't the reverse gear wouldn't mesh if you're moving, you'll just end up grinding it no matter how hard you try
Mythbuster's ruined a perfectly good CRX proving this

whats it like to have a granny gear?
It's actually very difficult for me to shift into 1st while my car is moving. I don't know if that is an actual feature of my gearbox (1990 MX-5 Miata) or if it's just old and shitty. But there is literally zero chance of me accidentally shifting into 1st or even Reverse.
