My parents had the NA version of this. It regularly got whipped leaving church by the Joneses' Buick Regal turbo. I don't remember if it was a Grand National or not; it had a low hood scoop with some sort of lettering on the sides of the scoop.

Anyhoo, they were both wrong because pic related was the baddest coupe on the market.

Also, the Grand National was an appearance package. It just happened to only be available on the Buick Regal T-Type.
The T-type had everything the GN did, except the all black everything. You could get a T-type in normal Regal colors.
But yea, lettering on the scoop would indicate at least a T-type

You're probably right about it being a T-type. It wasn't black. I'd have to look up the colors for a guesstimate but I recall it being a dark metallic blue or green or maybe...hell, now I have to look it up.

I think pic related was it. Hard to say; memory fades.
