Are all-season tires really that bad? I have Goodyear Eagle Sport All-seasons on my summer rims and I was wondering if switching them to dedicated summer tires similar in cost would make a significant difference.

Yes i have toyo extensa hps on the front of my car and mpss on the rear and despite the veey low tread void on the mpss tires they hydroplane far less than the toyo UHP all seasons up front

All seasons are fine for non-performance driving in summer weather. They're just really shitty in winter.

I have a set of Blizzaks for winter, so I'm not too worried about that. I guess I'll just wear the Eagle Sports out then buy some summer tires.

I think all seasons are kinda useless. Summer tires for rain & shine. Ford very cold weather (subfreezing) & snow get Blizzaks with a set of steelie rims.

*For very cold weather

All seasons are fine if you don't get lots of snow where you live.
Even then, the best all seasons will outperform the worst winter tyres.
More prone to hydroplaning in snow
