I really love the noise an inline 5 makes.
Unfortunately, I don't know the aftermarket for Volvos beyond volvo forums saying "don't bother modifying if it isn't a factory turbo", and as much as I love the sound of VW's 2.5, I worry about its reliability.
I know GM's 3.5 and 3.7L I5's sound glorious, but they have no aftermarket support whatsoever.

The old Audi inline 5 is like a 2JZ with a cylinder chopped off, some madmen are making upwards of 900hp reliably with those.
It's an extremely overbuilt engine.
