Are air cooled engines a meme?
>>16493348
Depends.
In a car, yes
On a motorbike, no
Why were so many air cooled cars rear engined? Isn't it the worst place for an air cooled engine?
are air cooled engines a joke?
how can an engine be a joke?
like it was made as a prank on the car owners?
does it have a punchline on the block?

>how can an engine be a joke?

>>16493348
no they're a good solution if emissions are not a concern.

"air cooled"
Those 911s had radiators to cool their oil, so they're really oil-cooled
And the 993 Turbo is straight up water cooled, well before the 996

Anything air cooled usually has a seperate oil cooler, and everything oil cooled usually has a substantial amount of cooling caused by air.
The proper term is air/oil-cooled.
>>16493782
That's one big oil cooler
>>16493796
FOR YOU
>>16493796
That's an intercooler
>>16493796
That doesn't look like an oil cooler.
>>16493796
Is that a turbo? If so that's an intercooler ya dingus
>>16493377
not really
>>16493377
Well considering two brands had air cooled engines in the rear for over 50 years, I'm going to go out on a limb and say no, it isn't a problem
yes.
I was with my boss in his air-cooled 930 turbo on a hot day and we got stuck in traffic the car started overheating
