What do you guys think about it? One just came up for sale for $1800, a 4 cylinder 5 speed model with 120k miles that looks clean and has no issues.
Should I jump on it? Would be a second car for me.
>>16491995
you clearly should if you have no financial issues
It would be an awesome car for weekend drives (depends on where you live tho)
I would def buy one
They're fun little cars, but at that price I feel like there has to be something wrong with it.

it is the 4 cylinder... which is pretty bad.
Check for subframe damage
slow as fuck because 1.8
better looking and more comfy than a miata though
worse than miata in every way
>>16491995
>BMW in Miata price territory
Are you asking to pay a fuckton in maintenance?
DO NOT buy the 4 cylinder
they're nice but only really worth it for a 2000/01 with the 2.5 or 3.0
>>16491995
>4 cylinder bmw for $1800
there are 3 red flags in that sentence alone
>>16492675
the 2.8 is alright tho
Great car overall. If you're a boiracer, go for the 6 cyl
>>16492736
the 4 cylinder is slower than a miata but
>the engine isn't as rev happy as the miata engine
>the car isn't light weight enough to justify the anemic 4 cylinder
its just plain bad
>>16491995
The 4 cylinders are a joke, get a 2.5 or look for something else.
>>16491995
Most 4-pot Beemers are a joke. Doesn't matter if it's in this or a 316i, they are truly asthmatic. This car begs for the 6-cylinder engine.
>>16492848
to make matters worse
the 4 cylinders are notorious for being super hard to get more power out of. they're fragile and hate any kind of boost
>>16492736
t. retard who bought a 4cyl
>>16491995
>4 cyl
no, just no.
Try to find a coupe instead.
