Awesome news! Time travel is a thing! And you're gonna go back to the earliest time that you were able to get your driver's license!
Except this isn't exactly like "Back to The Future"; you'll be replacing the normal you in the past, but with all the knowledge and experience that you have now!
The real question is: You just got your license from that point in time. What would you get as your first car in that timeline?

I think I can get a good price on a used 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS coupe.
I could probably get a great price on a 94+ miata in amazing condition. Although, all the dudes in high school would probably call me gay.

Fuck the license, I have more important shit to fix. Like my life.
Finally I'm young enough to become a trap!

I actually bought the first car I wanted as my first car.
1988 RX-7 10th Anniversary Edition
Why time travel? This timeline is fine as is.

I'd slap the shit out of myself for buying a GTI at such a young age. Fun car, yes, but if I had all the money I spent on repairing that thing (plus $4.00+/gal premium), I'd probably be able to buy a 2017 GTI by now and regret that instead.
I would still be a poor kid, but I'd probably work harder so I could buy a 2.3-16. there was more than one on my local classifieds for under 6k back then. The price just keeps going up and it's my favourite car.

do exactly what i ended up doing, only spending less time dicking around and doing what really needed done. Engine was so worn out that it burned a quart of oil every 10 miles (not joking, if i drove to school and didnt add a quart when i got there it would run out on my way home).
Ended up going to a junkyard and pulling a used motor and putting in my car, ran like a top after that.
car was an 1981 mercedes 240d 4 speed manual.
What i should have done though is asked my father to help me buy a chevy nova 68-72 instead of going into hondas.
