Global warming alarmism is a religion.

It's sad really. You go through 13 years of public education which is a complete mess, but nonetheless aren't able to actually assess the arguments for and against.

Rather you have some straw man arguments in mind (that have been implanted by the government/media) and now you are too infuriated to actually listen to the opposition.

The alarmists haven't made up their mind. The earth is heating or it's cooling? Alarmists get aggressive and say no it's climate change. Alarmism is just a pretext for bigger government and higher taxes. It justifies funneling massive funds into solving an issue, that even if it is as great as alarmists would have us believe, can't be stopped.

The entire alarmist position is riddled with shoddy science and bias. Most scientists will happily go along with it if it means more money for their research institutes or if it means not getting fired, and since most scientists (especially chemists, geologists and biologists) are confined mostly to academia (a hotbed for leftism) it means most of them will go along with it.

As per usual, the alarmist position is very dynamic. Failed prediction after failed prediction still doesn't stiffle them. According to most alarmists by 2016 the world should've been covered in water (from the ice caps melting) and land rendered inhabitable due to insanely high temperatures. Yet even though prophecies of Armageddon have failed to happen. The alarmists with their faith in the government and 'pop science' won't back down.

He'll happily pay more for his utilities, goods and higher taxes if it means the politicians, leaders and scientists who are furiously at work trying to solve the issue enjoy six digit salaries. It doesn't matter.

The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behaviour that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself

The rise in global warming has pretty much died since the early 2000s (The pacific heatsink disciples have gone into hiding since early 2014, I wonder why).

CO2 levels are still rising - but the dinosaurs were running around and fucking eachother up at levels over 500%+ higher than today, I don't think an Armageddon where we chocke to death on our on feces is upon us just yet.

To stop pollution, we need to remove the need for constant "growth" to keep our global fractal based economy from an hero, and move on to carbon or energy based economy.

If you where REALLY concerned, you would be pissed at the tankers and not the cars. But making electric tankers doesn't have a market that can be milked like personal mobility - therefore nothing will happen, and it will barely ever be mentioned. It's all smoke and mirrors..
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-1229857/How-16-ships-create-pollution-cars-world.html
>>
>>16480804
cars make up like 3% of the worlds CO2 emissions. Also a test pipe on my 30mpg 2.0l 4 banger isn't going to kill anyone any more than those faggot brotruckers with 9.0l straight piped v8's.

>da deenosaurs survived, we'll be alright

Wew, nobody is implying gobal warning will make us spontaneously combust, you flaming retard. Its about the survival and/or avoidance of a catastrophic event. All it would take for the shit to hit the fan are a few years of bad crops. That would be enough to make everything collapse, even if it doesn't wipe out humanity outright.

A warming of a few degrees would be enough for that to happen

I get surgery every year and smoke a shitload of weed to keep my brain activity to a minimum. It doesnt help (not trying to be a braggy special snowflake faggot) that i have an above average brain activity my eeg's show severe epileptical ratings of cerebral activity.

Basically i have a brain that works like no fucking tomorrow and i have tumors interfering with it as well. I found a way to basically not work and be rich as fuck(cant hold a job cause of being baked and epilepsy) so i just smoke and work on cars.

Tbh everyone in thia thread should stop fucking arguing about gay shit opinions and push the world further technologically so you all can get the fuck off this planet when it goes to shit and keep the human race going.
>>
>>16481273

The point was that the dinosaurs didn't have cars, yet NATURAL VARIATIONS made the atmosphere hold five times the CO2 of today.

Not saying all this extra CO2 is a good thing, but if it was as bad as they make of it, why don't you think there is any debate about "clean" heavy oil tankers?
The cost would be a fraction of what getting rid of all the cars in the world would be.
>>
I like cars as much as the next guy but /o/ will go to any lengths to defend emissions and 'debunk' global warming as either a hoax or natural just so they can keep driving their decatted shitbox around with a clean conscience.
>>

>>
>>16481311
Because since more than often, those tankers are registered in 3rd world shitholes, so they aren't bound by EPA. Even if they were, iirc when in international waters, they can do whatever the fuck they want.

You do raise a good point. It would definitely be possible to make tankets burn cleaner, but with Mr "global warming is a Chinese hoax" I doubt it will happen

>98% of scientists agree about global warming, but this anon found the (((truth))) on fox news comments and the "hockey stick" graph. wake up sheeple1

The reality is that climate change is certainly real - but "global warming" in the modern human-provoked sense is not well understood. The climate models used are heavily debated, the measurements themselves are heavily debated (particularly the ocean readings), and of course it isn't well understood how the current situation ties into the timeline of the planet's natural lifecycle.

And what has actually happened is Leftists and associated scientists/institutions have shoehorned this into a political issue in an effort to secure funding for themselves for an uncertain issue. And the liberals, being as stupid as they are, eat this shit up and cite it themselves constantly as some attack on conservatives.

In my opinion, whether or not the facts do actually add up is completely irrelevant, because the manner in which this debate is being handled today is not in favor of actually addressing the problem, it's in favor of lining the pockets of certain political parties.

>>
>>16481434

>slight change in lifestyle

It's not that simple though. It's opening up a whole new portal of tax revenue and government regulation that will never be closed.

Personally, I don't have any issues with making a slight compromise to make the other side happy on what may or may not be a very real problem. But that isn't what will happen. Just like every other hot issue, it will be mutilated in a million different ways to enrich those at the top. I wish it was as simple as "oh, we'll just have to refrain from exhaust modifications" or "oh, we'll just have to pay a little bit more tax to fund some solar panels and wind farms", but it isn't, and has never been with any partisan issue in the past

Smog is an artifact of weather control, specifically the release of condensation nucleates. Cars just happens to be a convenient explanation for the purposes of taxation and restriction. Global warming was the first version of the name with which to explain to the plebe why extreme weather was happening more frequently, to blame the plebe himself and to tax and control the plebes economic behavior. The problem is that extreme weather included a good component of 'below seasonal' temps, so 'global warming' as a terminology became ineffective and contradictory, so they coined the term "climate change" which is about as abstract as they could get, it seems. "climate change" suggests nothing about the root cause, without being accurate. "Climate change" is really and truthfully an apt terminology, given that yes the climate is being changed. The plebe never once wavers from what he's been told; "it's you!" to even consider that it's a decades old, international climate modification program which takes approximately ZERO (0) days off annually.

Used to believe global warming was real, but the fucking scientists at universities put their monitoring stations next to air conditioning units and onto roofs. On the other hand, so--in most plausible scenarios--does a coordinated response to global warming. There are few problems:
Downsizing + turbo was a mistake. Manufactures have focused on gaming EPA/NEDC tests.
And low power engine is perfect for that, because speeds during tests are super low.
EPA cycle that is supposedly better, has several hard braking moment that allows hybrids to recover energy and is to random.

Manufacturers are blinded by turbos and now hybrids because it's "research-free" and even basic cam switch is considered too expensive. Not to mention improving intake by "natural" means.

turbo cars have lower Compression Ratio

CAFE forces to try retarded ideas that don't uphold real world conditions

Flooding itself can sort of be dealt with, think Venice. but with Florida the entire state is poised to turn into sinkholes, each time it floods you're washing away more limestone under the foundations of everything above it. The ocean level doesn't need to rise above Florida, it's ready to sink itself under the ocean, all it needs is more rain.

Yet to see any of this...

I like how global warmists seriously believe cold cut 100% that the earth is going to dry up within 100 years and in less than 25 years coastlines along all nations will go inland 5 miles (the scientist who said this lives in multi million dollar beach front property, lmao). I mean after all thats what numerous scientists have said... And scientists can never be wrong. Several scientists in my nation have even said that its never going to rain again... 3 months later biggest floods that state has ever seen :^)

And when anyone stands up and says "hold on, I dont think any of this is right..." they are immediately met with wanna elitist belittling from the warmists...
So pathetic.

By the way, climate change model simulations are exactly that. Scientists ptus a bunch of "ESTIMATED FUTURE DATA" into a computer and their custom made program spits out the results they want to see. Lmao, cold hard facts my fucking ass.

I'm intelligent enough to see good business when its in front of me... I see the big picture...

You say scientists, lobbyists, policy makers, manufacturers of "green products" have no interest in pushing climate change?
Taxing carbon dioxide is a full retard move, and a full retard move many left leaning tree humping governments are pushing for.. Take all that extra money from businesses, small primarily, large businesses never pay tax anyway, increase cost of living for families.. Who gains here? Big business and government, and any lobbyists or scientists who wish to get their grubby hands on grant money. Thats just one example...

Government makes policy to promote green energy? OKAY! Time for thousands of business to pop up overnight, import cheap ass chinkshit solar panels that dont even work, hook them up to government buildings, get mad money from government... Yeah... Nothing to gain for anyone.
Dont say this doesnt happen either because I used to work for a company involved in this shit and they made MILLIONS from importing chinkshit solar panels and reselling them to people with government contracts for a fucking markup of 800%. That's something you can verify yourself in 30 minutes. If you accept the fact of global warming you must surely accept the FACT, and not the FANTASY, a prerequisite for which is seeing the data for yourself.

TV and liberal rag popsci faggots tell you the world is ending. The data tells you that the pleasant weather some portions of the world enjoys is ending. The popsci faggots tell you that we will all starve. The data tells us that certain regions will produce fewer crops, while some others may be able to produce more. The popsci faggots told you that rising sea levels would drown florida. The data tells you that if anything, melting glaciers will disrupt oceanic currents and trigger an ice age far before florida becomes one with the sea. The popsci faggots told you that countless species would go extinct and that is bad. The data says that countless species will definitely go extinct and doesn't say anything more than that because the value of the ecosystem is more subjective than not so long as the area still supports life. Not every fucking animal is carrying an undiscovered medicine in its veins. I, for one, welcome the demise of those stupid white bears.

Scientists don't dictate what is fact. Evidence does. Scientists came to the consensus that the world was flat because it the best conclusion they could make with the evidence they had.

All "facts" are merely theories. Reality can't be proven, but it can be observed.
