Working on fixing the EGR in our buddies 91 Previa.
DO NOT FUCKING BUY ONE OF THESE PIECES OF SHIT IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY

We had a thread on this the other day.
It's extremely hard to work on because of where/how the engine is placed.
It's one of the least safe minivans you can buy.
>b-b-but it's a mid engined minivan!
So? It's an engineering dead-end. There's a reason no one uses them anymore.
It's inherently unsafe. having the engine in the front helps with absorbing energy in the event of a crash.
>b-but it's fun!
there are plenty of other fun minivans with aftermarket support that are much better designed and much safer than the Previa.
4 cylinder Dodge Caravans are fun. First gen vans use the same engines as the Chrysler K-cars and some rare vans (88-90') were even offered with turbo version. They take well to mods. and 4 cylinder second and third gen vans use the same engine, minus turbo, as the Dodge Neon SRT4, so turbo conversions are pretty plug and play.
first gen example:

second/third gen example:

The Mazda 5 is another example. Offered with a manual, based on the Mazda 3 and has similar dimensions to the original Dodge Caravan of the 1980's. EVerything from the Mazdaspeed3 will swap right over and bolt in so you can definitely make this van a fun sleeper.

The Ford Transit Connect may not immediately come to mind but it's there. It shares it's platform with the Ford Focus, thought with a different incompatible rear suspension. Engine is the same as in 2005-2011 American Ford Focii, the 2.0L Duratec I4... so there's a lot you can do to make them fun and fast.

Another option is the Honda Odyssey. Particularly the later V6 models. You can manual swap them which has been done. Unfortunately the J35 V6 doesn't have much aftermarket support, but that doesn't mean you can't build a fun but crazy minivan. Bisimoto did it.

>This burgered over minivan choices
>Thinks op is looking for safety when he just wants a Mr minivan
>>16480855
What is the point of a minivan? To haul kids around in safety and comfort. The Previa fails at that. Get over yourself.
why would you dd this?
>>16480860
Have you considered maybe op doesn't want it for those reasons?
>>16480888
Because reasons

then OP is retarded
Ugly as fuck, but will last forever.
The interior has a high floor deisgned for children/manlets so your knees will be up in your chest if you're a lanklet

DO IT.
Everybody knows the Previa as the RWD minivan, but because everybody is so balls-deep in muh JDM, they forget that we too made a RWD minivan.

and another. We made RWD minivans right up til 2005.
