What drives me crazy is how some people that I ride with that most likely have no money can afford to do burn outs every red light. Tires are expensive. I put 4k on my bike from late August to October which is about the life span of my tires. Probably will have to change them twice next season.

I got my bike used at 3700 miles and I believe I changed the back one at around 4700 as the cords were showing. I didn't change the front but it was pretty bad. At 7800 miles not and I know I need to change the front. Probably should have just replaced both at the same time.
>>
>>16463907
Motogp is nothing but spoiled brats riding around on daddys money.

Nothing about it is interesting because there are probably tens of thousands of riders that deserve to be there more but they never will be able to take part because of the retarded fuckaround involved with getting into road racing.

I know senpai. I've no idea how many kilometers the PO racked on my BMW's rear tire but since the tire is from 2012 and I rode 7000km on it myself... I'm gonna assume it went pretty far. I could stretch it even further but the bike rides awfully like this. If we're gonna ride, might as well do it right. MUH WALLET THO

I fail to see how the whole, "OP IS A FAGGOT" thing isn't incredibly homophobic and bigoted. I've stated this, then usually get an even more homophobic reply (shut up u fucking faggot) that gets a shit ton of upvotes.

I've heard the logic that it started on 4chan as an ironic thing, but I fail to see how calling somebody gay and a faggot in a negative context is anything but homophobic.

That's the thing, you have an Italian two stroke race replica, and these three words especially combined are the exact opposite of easy maintenance. So even for minor shit and the inevitable electrical gremlin, you'll definitely have to take it to a mechanic

anyone recommend a really fun offroad/commuter? hear me out before hitting me with drz shit, i have specifics:

copes with 40-60m/h speeds easily, lightweight, decent range. if it doesnt look like complete shit (i.e: not a boting grey slab engine with an ugly frame and cheap looking plastic) even better (ktms and aprilias are my fave look, just for help).

for reference, so far, the ktm freeride 350 looks cool, and the montesa 4ride is fucking amazing (if it had more range) - the thing even has storage built in.

doesnt have to be solely trail bike, can be a supermoto, enduro, dual sport, i dont mind.

I've got highway bars too.

This thing is pretty tricked out from the get go. It's got jardine pipes, the highway bars and some decent factory specs.

It needs a carb rebuild for both carbs, as well as a fluid flush, new battery and the clutch needs to be bled.

I don't mind riding around town with the grill. Told her if she wanted to do a road trip on bikes she needs to get her license. I'd let her ride the vtx if she wanted. Maybe even buy her a Vulcan or shadow if she was serious.

I probably should've specified this in my original post, I mean aesthetics in the classical sense of appreciating a work or object as complete sensory experience, not just the plebified 'it looks gud.' An example of non-visual aesthetic could be something that has parts that work in near flawless synchronicity or that feels good when you fire it up for a ride or that roars just the right way when you push it to its limits. An object having functional qualities doesn't exclude it from being aesthetic because those qualities are aesthetic in themselves.

That's a lot of bike for a beginner, heavy and very powerful, if you're looking for a sport tourer as a first look at the ninja 650 (the Ptwin one, not the i4 636) Suzuki DL650 or Kawasaki Versys, they're all cheap, reliable, comfortable on the highway.

If you're dead set on the Concors it's probably fine, those bikes are made to go nonstop, so 36,000 Km in 7 years is nothing.

nobike here, i have questions about insurance

>What insurance company do you use?
>Do you have liability or full coverage?

Do companies charge by displacement? Like will a 650R commuter bike be more expensive to insure than a 600RR supersport?

Also, the Suzuki SV650 is the "Miata of the bike world", does that mean it's cheap to insure?

some dude on a 110 got run over by a truck at the secret spot last sunday. 2 minis were cruising and a truck passed them and turned left right in front of them, and ran over the guy and his bike. the truck got there like 60 seconds earlier and asked me if trucks were ok to offroad there. i said yeah trucks sometimes come and cops dont care. immediately i thought this was a mistake because trucks are gay and fuck up the spot more than anyone. then literally one minute later he ran someone over. oops.

This is a shot in the dark, reading this general just reminds me of the rest of 4chan and doesn't fill me with much confidence. Nevertheless I hope someone sensible can shed some light on my current issue:

I want to get a permanent security solution. I'm torn between a 14mm circular cross-section hardened Abus chain, or a 11mm hexagonal cross-section hardened Abus chain. Padlock will be the same Abus Granit top-end black thing.

Pic related is the 14mm hardened one, coming up next is the 11mm hardened hexagonal one.

Theft insurance.
>>
>>16466976
Fully comprehensive insurance is already gonna be on the bike. I'd rather the bike doesn't get stolen since you'll never get enough money in the payout to buy the same bike in the same condition. That's excluding the sentimental value of the bike. Oh and insurance requires appropriate anti theft security measures anyway.

What kind of cuck bikes drain onto the headers? The drain plug on my Daytona is next to where the exhaust runs.

why is motocross 30 mins + 2 laps? why not just a number of laps? how do they keep track of riders who get lapped?

doesnt really matter how fast oyu go on that stuff, the ice under neath has huge grooves that will fuck you up. plus i wouldnt have traction to make corners at any real speed

sand is easy, i can deal with all types of sand without issue. the snow up there was something else, ice with deep grooves and ruts under everything with super dry compact snow on top that broke away in weird patterns that would take the front tire out from under you without notice. its more akin to riding in streams since you cant really see whats trying to kill you.
i just need better studs
>>
>>16467213
No, it is generally less than the 6 laps even.

Go try and ride a dirt bike around an mx track at even cruising pace for 30 minutes and see if you think that is doable.

Most people struggle to be able to finish 3 laps of a full sized mx track never mind 30 minutes of riding around one.

yz250fx

>stiffer suspension
>no lights
>ppl say can into trail and mx
wr250f
>speedo, headlight
>heavier
>weaker, costs 100 for gytr race ecu, 40hp

>>
>>16467428
wr250f and grey wire mod.
then you get lights and a magic button.
and of course uncork it
>>
>>16467410
>As used bikes maybe.

What else would you buy? I thought you were a noob.
>>
>>16467438
wr250f + gytr ecu = yz250fx hp
i dont think the gray wire mod applies anymore? but either way, same thing. race map.
but the yz250fx is already powerful enough. and would only need a light an hr counter.

im looking at a cost perspective too since most of you guys are poor as fuck.
if you have the money to mod out the FX to your liking then go for it.
i believe the grey wire mod worked on all the carbed offroad WRs, but i haven't looked into it in ages

Just get the 250fx and throw a rec rego kit on it if you really want the lights.
hour counter is not needed on it either, you can see the hours when you plug the computer in.

otherwise if you want full rego get the wr250f as you can only get recreational registration on the fx.

Old man was on point. That is proper "gun control."
When I was going to Embry-Riddle in Daytona, some guy tried to rob the Army Surplus store. Cool shop, by the way. The owner drew and blasted the assailant with a shotgun, police came and did an investigation, the owner got the glass replaced and carpet cleaned, and he was open for business again inside two weeks, if that.
