I'm about to buy one of these cars the ABS lights are on for what he says is the control module is this a big deal? Would it not pass inspection if that light was on? Are these cars any good?

It's an Audi A4 with a stretched wheelbase and the rear suspension off an A6. They eat front control arms (need a new full set every year) and have electrical issues out the ass, along with Audi maintenance costs.

Yeah, the AWD system is nicked directly from Audi.
The cars (both Audi and VW versions) are total maintenance queens though, so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

These cars are made to rape you in maintenance. Sure, they're great cars when they work, but when they don't... dear lord, get ready to pay more in maintenance than you originally paid for the car if you plan to own it for more than a few years.

No. Don't buy one unless it's almost perfect. They're only good with a sorted 1.8t or an alh tdi. (or the w8 if you can afford the repairs)
