Why don't you do a proper projector retrofit. Your lightbar is worse than the assholes running HIDs in reflector headlights. How do you even run that without getting a ticket? Running lightbars on public roads is illegal here.

Really? I spent too much time on my car/was paid too little to give a fuck about my ranger at work and beat the hell out of it, never had any problems even at 220,000 miles
Any thoughts on going to EconoPaint (I think that's like Maaco for most people, but $250 paintjob) to "refresh" the paint by having them repaint it the same colour? I want to fix the bumpers and the roof, but I have quite a few dings and scratches elsewhere that I noticed after cleaning it thoroughly at home.
>>16442755
Dumb shit. Late at night, hairpin without signage. Understeer. Would still heavily recommend the Echo to people though, very fun car.
>>16442758
Shit keeps going in the Ranger I've been using. Is the Mazda B4000 notably shittier than the Ford one for some reason?

>>16442777
Ive heard people say the Mazdas are not as good but honestly they are the same. I worked a pool repair job where all the cleaners were a Bunch of ex-cons who beat the fuck out of mazda B-series and rangers all day. Both seemed to take the abuse just as well.
>>16442764

Ask to see some cars that they sprayed for the same price. Some of those places have guys that can lay down a decent paintjob. Just make sure you do all the prep work, masking, taping, etc.

Yeah, first I wouldn't bother changing the colour of a car with such a cheap paintjob. Second, I've really begun to like this colour, I was going to black it out, because damn if Firebirds don't look good in black, but this blue has really sold the car for me. Also, no Firebird around me has it this colour, they're all white or black (and the Camaro 4th Gens are all chalkboard black and shit for some reason, no one took care of them, but I've yet to see a ruined Firebird).

Most places won't mind, just let know before that you will be doing the prep work yourself. Do as much as you can at home and just do the final prep work when you get there.
>>16442885

>>16443264
I didn't do any of that. Previous owner did the wheels, a B&M Megashifter, and a K&N Air Filter. I'm not dumb enough to put those tires on just for show.
I have respect for people who dd a car simply because they love the car. I see too many people riding in hybrids and say how much they hate the car, but love the money they save in gas. I'd rather drive a gas guzzler that gets 12mpg and actually enjoy driving it, rather than drive a car that I don't like but gets good great mpg.
>>16443310
Some people don't really car about driving. Prius owner next door complains about her car being slow all the time but refuses to sell it for a more fun car in spite of her only getting 36mpg out of it on average (V6 Accord is not much worse than that) because she thinks it's better on the environment.

Before I decided on my current (and older) deathtrap I was looking at an 04 GT-S. How is it?
Soobie
>>16448264
I suppose it depends on the other cars you've driven in the past. I'll start by saying I will never willingly get rid of it, it handles so damn nice. I've been running 25mm spacer adapters back and front for almost a year, and the extra width made a noticeable improvement in plantedness, so that may be skewing my memories on stock setup. I drove a Fiesta ST for a while before picking up the GT-S, but I really missed having a Celica, and while the Fiesta is a better overall car, it just lacks personality. The Celica handles more flat, but the Fiesta has better grip. And the sound, oh the sound of that 2zz screaming to ~8250rpm through a killer exhaust like an Invidia N1 is just heaven. Make sure you get a stick though, auto Celicas are just junk, especially with the GT-S. Don't expect it to be a stoplight warrior though, it lives in the twisties, though that doesn't stop me from winding the gears out to hear that engine sing wherever I please.
tl;dr
7th gen GT-S' are pretty damn nice. It handles great, looks great, sounds great. But it's not fast.
Also don't get a 2002 or 2005, lower Rev limiter makes it next to impossible to stay in lift between shifts.
>>16448547
I'll also add that it really doesn't make power outside of lift which starts around ~6200rpm, so you'll want to wind out each and every gear to keep it moving if you're trying to go as fast as possible.
Thank christ for AWD
>>16448547
See I had a Mazda3 touring that i enjoyed and when that got totaled (i shit you not someone who was illegally driving in the u.s. decided to slam to a complete stop on the highway) I was looking at something a bit lower maintenance than what i really wanted/ended up doing. yeah, it's fun to drive, but sadly not the 131 HP HGT with the N/A 1.8l engine
the suspension is on the stiffer side, I haven't had the chance to drive a 'normal' mk2 Punto so I can't compare, sadly.

They are bretty good, mines been nice and reliable. Started in -13 no problems. The biggest issue is the mazda rust meme. It isn't a meme, it will be hard to find one that isn't rusted or beginning to. Mines pretty good, the only rust really is on the hood and i plan on just getting a new one. Their is a singular little bubble on the passenger rear quarter which makes me sad that the rust is coming.
I wash it every 5 days. Other than the rust, it's a great car. Got a nice amount of torque for what it is and can feel fast sometimes. When you go to look at the ones you want just really look around for rust.

>>16452776
Not OP, but I bought one about 9 months ago. So far I've put about 15,000 miles on it and have absolutely fallen in love.
It's almost exactly as fast as a modern Civic Si with very similar power numbers, weight, and even power delivery - but has hydraulic power steering, cable throttle, good visibility etc. so the "feel" is that of a 90's Honda. It's a bit more refined than a similar era Integra or Civic Si because it's built on the Accord platform and has more emphasis placed on luxury and grand touring, but because of the bigger engine it can also pull on them fairly easily. Basically, it's the best of every world. The only reason it gets shit on is because it's heavy for a Honda, but 200hp and 2950 lbs isn't all that terrible when compared with other poorfag sports car from the late 90s and early 2000s.

Fuck yeah man, I love that body style.
Here's the '93 Formula I used to have. It was a 6 speed and it had Borla exhaust. I miss the fuck outta it.

Insurance is 200$/month thru Geico, what do you guys pay? Minimum in my state would leave me paying 150$ or so

I never liked the front of Camaros (minus the 2nd gen, those CAN BE pretty cool), always prefer the Firebird.

I wish I could find out what the fuck exhaust I have, but crawling under the car and checking the muffler yielded no brand or serial #. Holy fuck V6s sound shrill after normal acceleration (3K+ RPM).

Pretty cool, Hans.
Oh wait, those wheels. Why does every muscle car in Europe has that American Racing Directional style? It's like the default American muscle wheel in Europe, because it 'murica it would be a set of Torq-Thrust boomer thingies.

Why don't you own a minitruck?
Overpaid for it and it needs some work, but I love it and the body is almost mint

I should do this, get a miata or minitruck.

I really wanted to get one, but they all have swapped engines in my area (for relatively cheap 2k) along with the unsuspecting rust I gave up.
Are you comfortable sitting in it? I've sat in one at a show and the roof felt to low for me to sit up in but could've been me just not wanting to mess with the drivers settings

My wife was gifted one of these when she graduated high school in 07, a 1990 basic automatic model. I drove it all the time since she didn't like driving. That thing was awesome, it's the reason I got into Celicas. It lived to 350k miles, before they sold it to a mechanic for $500 or something. Lots of oil leaks and a newly developed gas leak they (her family) didn't have the money or time to fix.

For me the headroom is great. I'm 6' 1" and have probably another 3" headroom with the seat adjusted as low as it goes (which is the most comfy position imo anyway). The seat adjusts a fair amount though, so if the owner was a manlet or woman I can definitely see that becoming an issue.
I'm still waiting on the bumper, grille, and fender to get painted. 2010 Legacy 3.6R

Or get a motorcycle.
Best bang for your buck.
Most smiles per gallon.
Most miles per gallons (40 mpg in a 600cc)
~12 second 1/4 miles for ~$5k
0-60 mph in 3-4 seconds.
No traffic, lane splitting baby
Priority parking at most places, park anywhere
Friends need a ride? Fuck no, they don't, they should have their own motorcycles.
Friends need help moving out? Fuck no they aren't borrowing your vehicle, you got a bike.
Coworkers want to grab lunch? Sorry, only got one bitch seat for the cute chick from the 5th floor.

POS #2
Old picture of when I got it.
Planning on lifting it 2-4", getting some A/T tires, deleting the air suspension, and stripping the interior (debating on that tho).
it's already straight dumped under the driver and passenger seats, and it's loud af. It's also fun as hell offroad even on the bald ass tires on it. It's infinitely better than my truck is offroad, i guess because it has weight over the rear and has a posi.
it's also good for pissing off the neighbors so that's good.

Offset on the front is unknown, WELD doesn't list it on their website for the wheels it says will fit the front.
Offset on the rear is 25, what is yours? Told I needed a high-positive offset.
I didn't do the fitment, I'm just enjoying the look of it and the free (new at purchase of car) tires.
