Mirrors and fender removed, we pretty now.
Immediate todo list:

That's probably all I'm going to do to it for a while.

I really wouldn't stress. You could either talk to him and apologize, see if he will give it a rest. Or just deny it. Where I live if your caught doing a wheelie your bike gets impounded and you lose your licence for a month. But that's if your actually caught by the cop. I don't think videos are quite the same

unless your police are nazis I wouldn't worry. There are people on youtube who have a huge following and post videos of themselves hooning, including wheels, and their plate, and their face.

>>16442352
Chances are good that cops will never talk to you, and even if they do they'll probably just be like "Dunno what you did but neighbor complained so just be cool dude k?".
In the extremely rare chance that they try to say anything else to you just tell them you're not interested in talking to them and ask them politely to leave. Never say anything to the cops, there's nothing you can say that will help you, only hurt you.

nah, it's not a bad idea. you will want to set aside some time anyways to learn how to wrench on your bike and understand how it works. this is a quintessential skill that every experienced street rider will know.

start with the basics: brake pads, brake fluid, oil, oil filter, chain cleaning and lubricating, etc...

Also do yourself a favor and link us wahtever craigslist ad you are considering getting. I got fucked over buying my ninja 250 last season so I know what to look for when it comes to these bikes as do most of us here

the real issue is I just have no way to get my foot into the door. I have no contacts/no established networks, so I can't rely on the Good Ol' Boy network to get me an interview and my grades weren't good enough to get me into a college/uni. I also live in a state with absolutely 0 entry level tech positions, and all I have is an A+ cert and """personal experience""" (read: no Job experience) from fucking around on my own computers

granted I know linux and the GNU userland like no one's business and I know my way around windows too, but no one's going to take that shit seriously on a resume if it's just from me doing shit in my own time.

I also can't afford to just move to where the jobs are, I'm working a minimum wage grocery store job.

at least I can change the oil on my shitbike

Go to a state-funded community college to get an associates degree then transfer to a university for a bachelor's degree in your field. Even as someone with great grades that could have got accepted directly into university this is the way to go because it's a lot cheaper. A lot of unis also have transfer scholarships that allow you to keep tuition rates similar to that of the cc.
>>
>>16442704
do the math over again. BAH and BAS is non taxable income. when you look at your take home pay and figure out what it would take a civilian to take home the same after taxes you are probably more on par with the law and finance guys than you think.

i also guarantee they aren't getting near as much offtime, leave, and holidays as you.

i was a diesel mechanic in the navy, got out and got an engineering degree thinking i'd be crushing my enlisted salary and the difference is not as much as i'd thought it would be.

the real difference is i don't have to have a faggy haircut or wear a stupid hat to work. and smoke weed.
>>
>>16442747
>off time
I had one four year assignment which I worked six day weeks more often than not and had excess use-lose under the old 90-day program if that tells you anything. I went Guard and life is a hell of a lot better, but who knows when my orders will run out.
>>
>falling for the study to earn meme
>Thinking engineering / stem is the way to go, and it isn't fast becoming a no job industry that way to many people are studying for. Also migrants will do it for half the salary your hoping for

We live in the age of opportunity to run your own business. I'm making 90k a year with my online business which to be fair could be doing a lot better if I got someone to help but I'm worried they'll try and undercut me.

Some of the goods are actually better quality than some of the big brands (everyone will disagree because we are conditioned to believe otherwise). lol no. it's probably the US, where the cucked populace has a burning hatred for anyone having fun. the purity of their dumb hatred makes everclear look like watered down vodka served from a russian bar.

american's can't even lane split because all logic and reason goes into the trash when they realize rednecks would literally try to run motorcyclists over for doing things they can't or are too pussy to do, probably to take out frustrations built up from watching intelligent, socialible people go to college, work successful careers, and stand next to mexicans without bursting into a blind rage.

You know it's true, ameridumb. Your roadgoing populace is a vile swarm of broken and battered human-like apes that violently yell and swerve at all perceived slights against their god and only comrehensible avenue for patriotism short of millitary service, "the law of the yew ess gubment".

I drove in the US once and they do not take kindly to real or apparent traffic violations. They react like barbaric tribesmen enforcing the law of their swarthy chieftan instead of civilized persons with law, police, courts, and a general understanding of the purpose of law rather than a blind, faith-like allegiance to it (something that american police actually do have. i can't believe your cops are more reasonable than the people they protect).

Seriously, I was born and raised in BC. People there were very polite and understanding on the road. In the US, people will honk at you for signalling before changing lanes because you're "cutting them off", they'll try and block you for splitting, they don't take kindly to passing of any sort and don't seem to believe in the idea of a "passing lane" at all, speed and tailgate you if they think you're going too fast (how? or maybe they think they'll speed and you'll get the thicket?), brake check you, play "lane games" in response to basic civilized habits like signaling for a slower driver in the passing lane to move over (before passing on the right as a last resort), and yell at you for the most inane shit. Rudest, least civilized drivers ever. New Delhi traffic looks like it might be an upgrade over an otherwise calm evening ruined by rude, hateful American drivers.

I would say I genuinely feel sorry for you but I moved here so I just feel sorry for myself

The crown actually has the effect of a small lean towards the crest (think of what would happen if the crown flattened and you maintaned the same lean angle relative to it) so yes, you would actually feel the pull towards the crest.

that's odd, I've never gotten on any bike where that's happened, almost immediately I'm used to it for the most part, even 1000s. I felt a little disappointed after seeing videos of people overreacting to riding 1000s for the first time when I tried one.
>>

My past experiences are with Miatas, Ninja 250s and DRZ400s, and I despise rollercoasters, so I don't go sanic very often.

I rode my brother's CB1000R around for an afternoon and after maybe 30 minutes I got used to it. That, and the weekend I spent trying not to crash my uncle's E90 M3 are literally the only time's I've had access to sub 14.0 second vehicles further than around the block a few times.

that's why we ride our bikes around twisty roads and tracks anon, you'll always get used to straight line speed but there's an infinity of things to learn for the times we're not in the middle of the main straight.

I've never ridden a bike where within 30 seconds I'm not acclimatized to it's power or speed, it's pointless to chase thrills that way, I can assure you I'd never get bored on a 600, not ever in my life, there's always something to learn.

>>
>>16444759
If you ever ride a lowered bike aggressively, even a "correctly" lowered one, you'll soon realize why you shouldn't fucking bother and it isn't really the obvious shit like potholes and speedbumps becoming increasingly dangerous.

Lowering the rear typically involves a shitty setup with a dogbone, and lowering the front I've seen everything from people using straps to compress the forks, or actually bumping the forks up to the point where they'll hit the triple tree. Either way it's a fucking nightmare and risky.

tl;dr shave the seat down if you want a lower ride, don't fuck with the suspension geometry.

>What you will possibly screw up is your rake and trail
see: ride aggressively. lets say you slide your forks up 2 inches and then brake hard and fully compress forks that were designed with 2 extra inches of height in mind. Bad times.

i just don't believe there is a reason to lower bikes as even shortfags can cut the seat or wear boots and easily have 1 foot down while stopped.
>>
>>16444844
>2 inches
First off, you are clearly referring to non USD forks, which suck anyway

Second, 2 inches are not gonna impact at all on how much you need to bottom out

Third, what i was saying is that by lowering the front you male your bike have a much more aggressive turn in (which is better when "riding hard")
>>
>>16444855
> 2 inches are not gonna impact at all on how much you need to bottom out
my point is that you're going to have the front fender striking the triple tree under heavy braking, obviously the fork travel remains the same.

>what i was saying is that by lowering the front you male your bike have a much more aggressive turn in
decreasing trail on a novice bike sounds like a recipe for disaster famalam.

not sure what i've said that you find so controversial bruh:
>lowering a bike by sliding forks up means your triple tree is now that much closer to front fenders, which typically have really tight spacing tolerances from the factory
>decreasing trail and stability on a novice bike for a novice rider is a bad idea

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

post a picture with the front forks fully compressed during hard braking. pic related, me on a track starting to get on the brakes. imagine the front end being 2" lower - it'd be hitting the front fender.

more trail = more stabile bike. this whole discussion on lowering bikes was predicated by a nobike complaining he's short and wanting suggestions for a bike he could fit on. why would you want a short trail and light steering on a first bike for someone just learning?

am I being trolled right now?

Not that gut but moving the forks up 2" will make a huge difference to handling. Even by sliding my forks up 3/4" it is way more twitchy and turns in extremely fast.

Raising the tubes in the clamps is so old skool...

It was popular on some bikes, like SV650's, to lower the front and raise the back for a faster turn-in and more weight over the front. Do it too much and you get front wheel tuck in the turns or worse, tank slappers.

Some bikes have room for this, others do not.

Two inches though? A dirt bike maybe, or something from the '70's.

I'm back again with questions for Italian riders.

What's the process of buying used from a private seller? I found a bike on moto.it, so how do I go about buying it? What are the fees/documents I need?

In the UK, the seller has a document called a V5 which I sign, then he sends it off to the government, and that's all.

Is it similar in Italy?

If you do get pulled over they can run it and make sure you're registered and insured, the bike isn't stolen etc.
If you get a cop behind you in traffic they'll see that you have one and not pull you over, whether or not they can clearly read it usually.

Basically it's a good middle ground between:
>the cop way back there popped his lights on, I know he didn't scan my plate, I'm out
and

A license plate is not supposed to be like a frame number, like you seem to think, it's supposed to be a way to immediately indentify the vehicle, or rather the owner of the vehicle.
If you need to stop the vehicle and check under the tail in order to do that than the plate is worthless.
