lol, I listed it on CL for $50 just to see if someone would take it off my hands for the salvageable parts. Only emails I got were from people that wanted me to give them the cylinder head for $10. Ended up donating it to the machine shop. They probably just tossed it. Timing components, oil pump, pan, crank, casing, whole thing was rekt.

Pic related the cylinder head which survived. Had it tanked and milled. Rebuilt it with standard compression valves, 92lb dual spring valvetrain, and some bigger cams (13.8/254 intake, 13.2/250 exhaust). Going to slap that on a 12.5:1 24a2 block and run it on 93.

Sometimes I wish I had blown up a motor in an actually fast car. That way all the work and money would have been spent on something making more than 100 wtq kek.

A few months ago we had a guy call the shop saying that his engine was running funny. No big problem, bring it into the shop, we'll take a look at it.
A few months go by, we don't hear from him. We give him a call and he said it was still running rough, and that he'd bring it in.
The next day, his car comes in on a towtruck.
Turns out it had been leaking coolant for months before he even called us, and he tried putting that blue devil head gasket sealer in it. The shit pretty much turned to sand and destroyed his engine.
It's just sitting in our shop right now waiting to be rebuilt. It's all fucked.

My 02 lancer I hydrolocked, threw a rod, cracked valves, head gasket went, sat outside with the head off after this picture was taken, inside of the entire block was covered in rust.

Cai sat right against the plastic 'skid plate' hit a puddle about 1" deep going 20, stalled out instantly, started it back up as I was under a 1/4 mile from home, half way there the rod went through the block and I coasted the rest of the way.

Who cares as long as it's air tight? It's a manifold, not a broadcast tower. It's not load bearing. I mean, that other photo looks horrid, but being this anal about a bunch of welds is autismal.

Not surprising at all. Most of the people I've met that drive 745's/545's are equally cheap and stupid.

Only applies to 745's/545's though. 535/550/750/760 owners generally tend to be more a mix of decent and not.

Lol. My Celica had almost the exact same thing happen.

>CAI that draws from right behind the fog light housing, bottom of the bumper
>driving at like midnight, had been some pretty bad rain for past two days, still raining
>dont see deep puddle(~2ft) and hit it at ~35mph
>engine sputters, bogs down and dies, rolls 3/4 of the way through, pushed it the rest of the way out
>get it towed home for free
>purge water out of all the cylinders, turn crank and realize piston #1 isn't moving
>still cranks but has a very loud knock
>rip in pieces wristpin and rod....

Gonna take it apart within the month, see what exactly i need
>>
>>16447615
Scrapped mine after I saw the hole in the block with my rod peaking through, couldn't do anything but laugh when I saw it. Some guy wanted to buy it to LS swap rwd swap it for whatever reason he had, 1hr before he was supposed to show up he dropped off the face of the earth

>Car before that
Driver's side wheel would come off randomly while driving from the studs snapping
Who needs new wheel bearings anyways?
Won't let me upload pics, but my LBJ scraped on my rim 90% of the time I drove, couldn't go over 45.

Knew a dude who used to pull this shit on purpose when he got tired of his current car.
He'd go out in the rain like that and the dude infront of him would "slam on their breaks" and he'd drive it into a ditch.
Scummy dude. His insurance rates were insane.
>>
>>16447967
"just a shitty bearing" is not a thing. big ends fail because of oil supply issues. subarus have a fine gauze in the line to the turbo and/or on the variable cam gear supply line, if with blocks you loose oil pressure. if you have a subaru you should 100% remove it because it is cheaper to replace a turbo or cam gear then the engine plus turbo andcam gears.
