lol, I listed it on CL for $50 just to see if someone would take it off my hands for the salvageable parts. Only emails I got were from people that wanted me to give them the cylinder head for $10. Ended up donating it to the machine shop. They probably just tossed it. Timing components, oil pump, pan, crank, casing, whole thing was rekt.
Pic related the cylinder head which survived. Had it tanked and milled. Rebuilt it with standard compression valves, 92lb dual spring valvetrain, and some bigger cams (13.8/254 intake, 13.2/250 exhaust). Going to slap that on a 12.5:1 24a2 block and run it on 93.
Sometimes I wish I had blown up a motor in an actually fast car. That way all the work and money would have been spent on something making more than 100 wtq kek.

A few months ago we had a guy call the shop saying that his engine was running funny. No big problem, bring it into the shop, we'll take a look at it.
A few months go by, we don't hear from him. We give him a call and he said it was still running rough, and that he'd bring it in.
The next day, his car comes in on a towtruck.
Turns out it had been leaking coolant for months before he even called us, and he tried putting that blue devil head gasket sealer in it. The shit pretty much turned to sand and destroyed his engine.
It's just sitting in our shop right now waiting to be rebuilt. It's all fucked.

not with welding. Good looking welds are almost always a good joint. Bad looking ones never are.

Who cares as long as it's air tight? It's a manifold, not a broadcast tower. It's not load bearing. I mean, that other photo looks horrid, but being this anal about a bunch of welds is autismal.

Not surprising at all. Most of the people I've met that drive 745's/545's are equally cheap and stupid.

>>16447967
"just a shitty bearing" is not a thing. big ends fail because of oil supply issues. subarus have a fine gauze in the line to the turbo and/or on the variable cam gear supply line, if with blocks you loose oil pressure. if you have a subaru you should 100% remove it because it is cheaper to replace a turbo or cam gear then the engine plus turbo andcam gears.
