Never got the car to pull tail. I got bored of the car once I realized the stock tune on it is incredibly deceptive and it has no power aside from a short burst of turbo pull around 4k rpm. I've considered keeping the car and just modding it, but to get what I want out of it is going to take a lot. I'm not a baby boomer, I do love classic rock though.

Either way, the STI has the opposite problem - it doesn't really properly spool up and hit it's stride until 4000rpm.

If he wants a V8 then he should get a V8 - extremely different experience from a turbo 4 (and this is coming from a 2017 WRX owner), tuned or not.

Although I am kinda curious as to why he's going for the Challenger rather than Mustang or Camaro - it's the slowest and heaviest of the three. Although I guess the Challenger also has the best visibility and is the most comfy...

Scat pack is 0.1 seconds faster on a 0-60 pull than a regular GT Mustang and regular SS camaro, but costs about $8k more than either of those.

The challengers are slower, you have to go up in trim level to get more power and pay more to be on the same level as the GT and the SS, and if you had the GT or SS, with the money you didn't spend on the challenger, you could just get a supercharger setup and some suspension mods and embarass any challenger you came across.

My only real gripe is the lack of locking gas cap. Literally anyone can walk up and get access to your tank.

Other than that, the car has a couple of quirks, but nothing I really dislike.

Stock tires are crap, that isn't really the car's fault. Keep them if you like the car being tail happy, but I personally bought a new set at 2000 miles and never looked back. Upgraded to 275/40/20s on all 4 corners.

Here it is up in the mountains with a few friends.

Car is definitely big but insanely fun to hit the mountain roads with. Especially when the transmission downshifts reverberate off the mountain walls.

If you do get one, i'd advise swapping out the tires for some better ones. The 245s on the scat pack are a little skinny for 485 hp.

That's not really true. Any ecu stuff can void the warranty. If you flash it back to stock b4 you take it in they can still know. They just have to actually have a reason to check if it had been flashed. Also depends alot on the dealer. Some dealers are cool with that some arent.

I got auto because I was never taught how to drive stick and didn't want to have to learn on the fly to my commute to work in traffic with shit boxes that ride my ass. Genuinely curious how you tune your subie with not acessport. Custom ECU? Everywhere near me uses cobb acess ports and software for their shops custom tunes. They just make their own map with cobb software. I imaging it's easier and more standard this way but I have no idea.
