Kia has a motorsports program and they do fairly well.
The Optima turbo has dominated the GTS class in the Pirelli World challenger while the Kia Forte is very competent in another class. Kia even campaigns the Rio in SCCA B-Spec racing

Hyundai doesnt really do sporty with the exception of the gen coupe. It's competant for what it is and what its designed to so. Its literally the car for people looking hard at a 370z but could do with more storage space, warrenty and dont want to option 5 grand to get a telescoping steering wheel and a LSD. That's its niche and thats why it doesnt sell well. It would either need to be faster or handle better to compete for sales with something like a Mustang or those little toybaru shit boxes.
