>Cross country trip
I drove 18 hours on a cross country trip, not that much but passed a lot of states. Any other cross country fans?

I did it twice in the last year or so. Pretty good times, especially if you aren't pressed for time. West to east I stopped at a lot of places to get good food, see some sites, meet up with friends and family. East to west I had less time, so I didn't mess around too much.

All the damn time.
Honestly one of the hardest things to do is slow down once you're used to putting down 10-14 hour drives in a single shot. I miss younger me who would make it a point to drive no more than 7 hours a day not for lack of ability, but because I had tons of friends everywhere who I stayed very close in touch with.
Nowadays I just zoom to the destination, which admittedly isn't as fun. When I was younger I was happier to stop off in random towns and spend a bit of money enjoying the food and locality. For some reason I've become more frugal as I've gotten older.

I'm kinda the opposite, though I guess earlier road trips were with my parents and brother. During different cross country trips, I went to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Bonneville Salt Flats, various restaurants (ones featured on food tv shows and whatnot), the Grand Canyon, some Meteor Crater park, BBQ in Memphis, one of those weird Chicago hot dogs, etc.
Missed a huge 72ish car pileup too.

I'm now determined to make my next trip a more leisurely one - used to be about journeys, not destinations. Gotta get back to that.
pic related, Tail of Disappointment in Deal's Gap NC. 35MPH speed limits and Law Enforcement abound made a once-legendary road a shitfest for bikefags.
This past summer I drove 4,600 miles from southern Indiana to Alaska. Along the way I hit Omaha, Mt. Rushmore, Badlands, Wyoming, Montana, Radium Hotsprings, Banff, Calgary, Edmonton, then drove the ALCAN from mile 0 in Dawson Creek, BC to Tok, AK where I got off to finish my trip in Anchorage. I did the trip solo in June and it was one of the best experiences of my life.
