I really like things like OP actually. I really like the idea of having a shitbox with a turbo just slapped on. It seems like it would be really fun to have something that you just don't care about at all that makes a ton of power and you can just beat on all day.

My guess is that the idea was to reduce frontal area for less drag.

Problem is, the way they did it probably creates far more turbulence (and therefore drag) than just having the full windscreen there. Sharp corners like that causes bad airflow.
