It's been a blast for daily driving honestly. So far, no issues with the CSC and I'm at 32k miles. Not a huge deal really, you can get the part online for $100 and have her replaced, not too bad. I just hope that if it does become an issue I notice it before it gives and burns the clutch disk.

Yep it's manual, 6-speed, has to be.. I refuse to drive automatics :P

Pros:
Looks fucking great, although that's limited to black IMO.
Surprisingly fast, especially when downshifting into about 4-5k RPM then planting your foot down
Handles surprisingly well (when did retards start calling it pigfat anyway, the only comparable cars that are slighter are considerably slower)
Interior is way better than you'd expect
Reasonably reliable
Decent driver feedback

Cons:
Clutch is on-off (common complaint but I don't mind)
Impossible to shift smoothly; I've driven a ton of manual cars smoothly within 10 minutes but even after two years my shifting is jerky as hell with the Z. This is honestly a big reason I'm selling it; between this and the revs taking an hour to fall between shifts the transmission just ruins the car fo rme

Very accurate and that road noise... There is no sound deadening material around the rear wheels so you hear every fucking pebble.

I got a little fortunate with mine though, Bought it certified used from carmax with just under 20k miles... 9 months later carfax shows it was in a wreck before I got it, Have it checked out and everything but the roof and trunk lid were repainted, front end was replaced... carmax said, No frame damage you're shit out of luck... Got a lawyer because california. 10 fucking months later, Lawyer wins a big case with the supreme court on another similar case (supreme court ruled carmax is breaking consumer protection laws) then flexes muscle on my case and carmax folds... buying the car back for $34K total ($13k paid off the car, $2800 went to the lawyer and i got the rest back).

Everything looks better it in black, but the upkeep on it is fucking hard. Anything and everything will show up. I make it a habit to ONR wash my car every week as well as apply wax once a month. It's a pain in the ass but the payoff is worth it. Black Corvettes look slick af with a shine to it.

Mine was a Touring/Tech package equipped so it had an "okay" bose stereo that I would just turn up, But if you drove over a poorly maintained highway or a road with a lot of debris on it, You'll just constantly hear what sounds like a blender going on in the wheel wells.

It was livable, The seats were my biggest complaint... They held me in great, But they were firm and did not let me move much at all... If you're nuts itched then you're fucked.

And yes on the clutch, It seemed like the catch point kept changing... I got to the point where 8/10 times I could drive it perfectly, but if you over revved or under revved or didn't let go of the clutch smooth it did not forgive you.

Also the clutch slave cylinders are problematic... Mine went out at 26K miles then warranty covered it again at 33K miles.

Practical as fug, mines a shortbox (6ft instead of 8ft standard, some modern cucktrucks even have like a 4ft bed). My truck actually sits pretty low at it's factory height, most trucks are taller. It may be a DD, but the bed actually gets used often enough that renting something would be a nuissance and wasteful, but also I can afford and love driving this thing.

HAHAHAHAHHAHA! I'd estimate it to be around the 15-16 sec mark (Base 3.4L V6 with some mods). I do love the look of the tires (Nitto 555R Drag Radials), but it's not fast enough to truly deserve them.

Anyway, this is the current setup of the tyres:

F:195/60R15, were originally some bald 175/50R15s when bought
Some dirt-cheap new all seasons from Hercules I got that fit on the WELD Pro-Star Aluminium Wheels it came with.

R: P275/50R15 (I've been told I could make it all the way to 305s without mods, but I have no interest in going any further)
Nitto 555R Drag Radials also on some WELD Pro-Star Aluminum Wheels. They had 700 miles on them when I got the car. Dude had pretty good paperwork on the car (but failed to mention he had welded the brake pads STRAIGHT TO THE CALIPER to force the wheels to fit, WELD recommends a 1/8" spacer but I'm using a 1/4" one).

Sorry for the long reply, have pics of the brake pads if requested. Some people might remember my post about it.

Pads worn down to the backplate and the... bracket? on the back (the part that is tac welded) is deformed to be flatter to clear the caliper. The calipers were also on the wrong sides (a fucking amazing feat that I cannot understand, as me and a certified mechanic spent about 3 hours trying to replace the calipers with the matching one without checking until there was no other option, after which we both kicked ourselves) with the passenger side one on the driver's side and vice versa.

New calipers refused to clear the wheels, requiring me to get a spacer.

there's a retaining notch to hold the flatspot of the bolt while you loosen the nut, no space for anything but a wrench. i'll get around to ordering new ones and cutting these. made putting the driveshaft in after dropping the subframe or when putting the motor in "fun"

the bolts that connect driveshaft to diff
they go in on the driveshaft side and nut holds them from the diff side. but there is a retention stub so you only use a wrench on the nut
but the bolts are in backwards, and impacted the nut on the wrong side, i even tried a long ass wrench and it wouldn't brake loose after sitting with lots of pb
it's not like i need to remove it for anything now, so i'll fix it eventually

Hey, look at that!

The is a pic of a DD DC5 Type S that has 185K+ miles now. This pic is pre-E85, now the fuel system has been completely overhauled. Exterior/interior is kept looking stock (sans necessary A/F for fully running on an aftermarket wideband), aftermarket exhaust chosen was one that closely resembles stock look-wise with it's polished bits painted with black header paint. Having a full racing headers helped eliminate 95% of the drone!
