Our insurance is quite high but you can do whatever you like to your car.

Insurance is the killer though. My mate tried to get insurance for a 1 litre Micra at 17, and because he was 17 and lived in a shit area he was looking at almost £3k insurance. If you're a 18 with a stanced Mustang in Liverpool, good luck.

There are ways of getting it cheaper though. There are specialist brokers who will attempt to insure you if you're a criminal/foreigner/have a classic car/modded car ect. You can also get discounts if you're part of a car club.

Getting a drivers license costs not more than 200-300€
Young people can afford to insure anything (insuring a 3 liter bmw 7 series cost me 180 euros when I had just turned 18)

Cheap repairs and servicing
There are like 5 speed cameras in the whole country and the penalties are relatively low
Cops can be bribed easily

Lenient laws on modifying
Cheap cars because of lenient import laws and Germany is only hours away. Domestic cars are everywhere and are cheap(Volvo and SAAB).
Low population density and quite sizeable for a euro country->not that much traffic jams and lots of room to drive around. South part doesn´t really have winter, but the northern part is so north that a proper winter takes place.

Buying property depends, there's an apartment downtown in capital that's like 340sq ft/12sq mt which goes for half a mil
