A poor attempt to give a bland car character.
I honestly can't understand why everyone is going on about the Continental. It's merely a generic sedan that's completely forgettable.

See it in person and you may think differently.
Pictures don't do it justice on how substantial the car looks in person, it's honestly the size of a Bentley sedan. Never mind that the car feels substantial in a way that hasn't been for a long while. The doors are heavy, and fucking huge. The rear seat is huge as well, to the point that the Taurus and Charger back seats feel cramped by comparison.
Part of the reason why people are excited about the car is precisely because of this. It makes no bones about being some junior exec sport luxo whatever the fuck. You get there when you get there, and it'll be quiet as the grave in the meantime.
I'm rather excited that there is a real deal sedan competing for the luxury market instead of another soft roader full size SUV or a 4 door that wants to be a coupe sport luxo.

The company announced that Parts Production and Assembly was planned to be moved to China prior to the presidential election since Hillary was going to win. Now that Trump won, the company might have to rethink parts of its cost reduction strategy.
