>tfw two 450 engines with their gearboxes are still lighter than a z750 engine
450 would still eat the z750 until 150kmh too due to having a far superior power to weight ratio
>>
>>16397293
yes but you also have to consider those aren't MX bikes. They're not made to squeeze as much power as possible out of a little engine
>>
>>16397317
power to weight ratio is nothing on bikes because their acceleration is mainly limited by wheelieing. Weight distribution is what really matters. The Z750 would win even at low speed because dirt bikes wheelie too easily.
>>
>>16397317
I'd also much rather ride 1000 kms on a Z750 than on a WR450
>>
>>16397329
You would have to do 2 oil changes on the WR450 during that. KEK!
>>
>>16397326
450's accelerate to 100kmh in 2.5 seconds with a good rider.
>>
>>16397371
You would have to do 1 at 2000km actually.
not bad really considering the 900ml oil capacity, my road bike needs an oil change every 5000km with a 3.8 litre oil capacity.
>>

Even then it wouldn't reach 100km/h in 2.5s. That is an average acceleration of 11.1m/s/s. The acceleration due to gravity near earth's surface is only 9.8m/s/s.
>>
>>16397514
Yeah but both are less powerful than a bike that has an engine 100cc smaller in capacity (what if i told you both companies actually limit the power to below 52 because they believe more than that simply is not usable on an mx track for most people)

That is true, euro bikes in general are on a different level completely compared to Japanese bikes, Yamaha are the only Japanese bikes that can even come close to starting to compete with them but they still arent actually included in any serious comparisons.
>>
So this a honda thread now?!?!?
>>

yes it looks like yamaha is giving it more an effort to compete in enduro too. the new yz250fx and yz450fx are looking like good contenders. at least better than the other 3 jap enduros

R1 is the fastest 1000 around a track period, it has the best electronics ever put on a sportbike as well. I doubt it, slide control means they've pulled the pin and are putting their proprietary race TCS systems on it which was always the best. I already know it's gonna be a bit down on power (189 hp vs the 199 hp of the competition) but it weighs 195 kg.

195 kg, that's as light as some 600s (the kawa 636) and it means with a new pipe and getting rid of some emissions shit we're gonna be down near 190.

My expectations are reviews say it's a "little down on power compared to the s1000rr and R1" but it turns like it's on rails, and I'll be right when that happens.

I am not a honda fan by any stretch of the imagination, this new CBR is the only thing I've seen them do this entire century I like but you can trust me on this one, it's gonna be the best handling 1000 in history.

>>16397659

with the bike off, put it in gear, and try to disengage the clutch so you can roll around. and compare that to rolling in neutral. it should have no more resistance to rolling with the lever pulled than in neutral. otherwise there is clutch drag, and the lever should be tightened (spread apart) so the clutch fully disengages.

>>16397960
This.

Oil still causes slight friction. Its easier to push a bike in neutral than it is in gear with the clutch pulled in.

You can exchange 3 and 4.

Manufacturers just recommend 4 because it's better, not because it's essential. Using 3 just brings your brakes back a few years. Germans would doubtlessly pass a car using 3 instead of changing it out for 4 if it was recommended by the manufacturer, because, you know, germans are colossal idiots

Despite being stereotyped as intelligent, they make britons look like geniuses. The reason? The smart germans were actually Jews.

In the end, I want a 600-750cc bike, which is a sport standard. I wanna go up in size, but not up in price. In Onterrible's insurance, the 600 is in a lower bracket than the 650. It also depends on the value of the bike. Radians aren't worth anything now, so that's good for me.
Is there anything I should be worrying about? Other than a low top speed and lots of wind all over me, all the time?

People citing 250cc bikes with 40+hp are typically citing MW/enduro race bikes. They are not comparable to a 250cc street bike in power. That 250cc street bike has to go thousands of miles without an oil change, valve adjustment, or top end rebuild. MX/enduro bikes go a matter of 10s of hours between oil changes, and valve adjustments and they need top end rebuilds constantly if used to put any significant amount of miles.

Then there are the plated Euro MX/enduro bikes which have all the shitty maintenance of the MX/enduro race bikes, they just have the minimum requisites to get plated.
They are useless on the road for anything other than connecting trails on the slab.

tl;dr. Know what you're looking at. 250cc road bikes do not make 40hp+
if you see a 40hp+ 250cc bike it's almost guaranteed to be a race only MX/enduro bike, a 2 joke, or a barely legal race MX/enduro bike.
>>
>>16399544
But if they have the ability then why not give them like 35 hp instead of 19? It would allow beginners to keep their first bike a lot longer and they would be a lot more fun to cruise desu.

that's how people lock up the rear doing fuck all and cause themselves to crash doing nothing because they think they're only allowed to use the rear brake mid turn from some shit they read online.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVvkSQmqm3M

You can use the front brake to slow down mid lean no problems just don't be a nutjob on the thing. The BEST thing to do, is to stand the bike up a bit (lean it a bit away from you too if you want) and hit the brakes harder to scrub off as much speed as possible while the bike is slightly upright then turn the bike back into the corner before you run wide.

The bike really does brake the most effectively when it's upright but racers will brake nearly all the way to the apex of the corner, you just have to remember that if you're at 50% lean angle you can only use 50% brakes, while if you're at 0% lean angle you can use 100% brakes etc.

There's only so much load a tyre can take.
>>
>>16399675
Being two inches taller than the ideal height (6'2") is worse than being two inches shorter than the ideal height.

At least if you are 6' tall you are taller than average but don't look like a gangly alien with no muscle mass like people who are 6'4" do.

>>
>>16399687
this.

The "Rear brake in turns" bullshit comes from retards misunderstanding what "trail braking" is.

Trail braking is braking into the turn and easing off the brakes as you ease into the lean reaching zero braking and full lean before apex before getting on the gas for the exit.

"Trail braking" does not mean using the rear brake exlcusivly mid turn.

If you are going to brake in a turn it is much better to use the front priarily. Not only does the front providde more grip, but if you overdo it the worst that can happen is it washes out and you low side. Suck but better than the alternative. Overdoing it with the rear brake in a turn will turn into a highside real fast and fuck you and your bike up substantially.

Not me sadly.

An ex of mine came back into my life and made me realize she was the one that got away. We dated, and ended up splitting because I picked up a second job while going to school and she started a Nursing program. In short, life got in the way. I miss her right now and I'm half a bottle of whiskey in. I want her back, but she's turned into a career only woman now and has no time for me.

Honda makes a truly reliable bike every now and then, including the non-engine parts (VFR/VTR bois and their fried r/rs can put their odometers away now) but most of their motorcycles are completely average, especially the smaller displacements

Also don't forget the LINKED BRAKES

If you want your bike, the whole bike, to last forever, buy a yamaha.

For an inline 6, I'm surprised how compact they were able to keep it. It doesn't feel that heavy, although it is. But I used to ride heavier bikes with less guts, so maybe that why.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

Ninja 250R doesn't make 30hp. The old GPZ250 made more than 30hp. The current CBR250R makes something like 22hp.

It's the old 90s CBR250RR, ZX2R, Across, etc that make 40hp+.
