Is the ATS a comfy reliable car? How dependable are the 4-bangers that GM uses now? And how does it stack up against BMW 3, Lexus IS, Audi A4 etc?

It's great and has 5 more outhandles than a stupid bimmer!
t. definitely no GM marketer
I did a oil change on a 2013 ATS the other day. It only had like 86 000 km but the D/F wheel had sever play. It has multiple lower ball joints and just the 1 Forward lower ball joint/ control arm thing was $230 from the dealer.

That's the price of moving away from off the shelf Chevy parts for Cadillacs

its a great car, but caddy xts is a more spacious and more comftortable and softer for a cheaper price, ats is handling machine like german cars
Compared to a 3 series, A4, and C class, its more fun to drive by a good amount and the 3.6 V6 is a great engine
However, the interior is sub-par for how much it costs, lots of plastic, 2.0t is unreliable trash, is loud on freeway, and CUE infotainment system sucks.
Idk why someone would buy one over a 3 series or A4 though when they are the same price. Which is why Cadillac can't sell either the ats or cts.

eh, not really, but warranties are a thing
you get an ats for the driving dynamics which are actually really fucking good
