OP didn't word it properly but it's not just a matter of building the car but of actually designing it. Point is the original GT was a Lola and the current GT is a Multimatic.

Brits have never had an issue winning Le Mans all by themselves. C-Type? D-Type? XJR9? None of those ring a bell? On the other hand, only the Feerrd GT40 MkIV was a truly american effort. Since then, how many times has burgerland won Le Mans overall?

No, Toyota has normal plants in Britain that make cars for the British market.

I don't even like burgercars, but I have to admit the GT40 is a venerable car with a nice story behind it.

RS2000
Venom GT.
