>>16367341
not many people actually have a drz, it is like 2 maybe 3 anons that are posting them though.
I think there are more anons with a KTM than a drz thinking about it.

Riding dirt bikes or dual sport bikes is the most low effort way to be into "motorcycles". It's quite pathetic really. A couple of kids that try to hang with the big boys, but can't.

you're comparing an entire brand to a single bike. There are far more suzuki owners than ktm owners
>>16367403
Riding dirt bikes at a professional level is the most physically demanding thing a person can do, no sports have a comparison.
Go ride a dirt bike around a track for 15 minutes, i bet you fall off it unable to move a muscle.

You do not apex road corners like track corners, at the halfway mark of a corner you should be in the middle of the lane aiming for an extremely late apex.
There's also no such thing as an absolute apex of any corner there's always the choice of which apex you take for various reasons.

It's not great on the highway, but it'll do it. Expect to be getting passed in the right lane if you're down south with them 70-80mph freeways unless you got good mawds.
Everything else it's great for. I did this on mine, and several highway drips from 3-6 days.

>>16368093
I have a moty battery...how old was it when you started the trip? Did you do the free power mod?
How old were the fork seals? Did you have seal savers?
>>16368115
The batter was about a year old, and I killed it several times leaving shit plugged in and lights on for a few minutes without the bike running. One week in it was absolutely DED dead. I kicked the bike for most of the trip.
Fork seals were only a few months old, but they were All Balls. My shop guy told me they wouldn't last worth a shit and he was right. I did not have savers.
I really wanna get into motogymkhana. Seems like a lot of fun.
>>16368097
Planning to try freeze fixing the fatty, this one isn't in bad shape, a couple small dents.
>>16368121
Is there any way of making the moty work?
Carrying another moty would probably be lighter than reinstalling the stock one
>>16368162
The problem is it's low capacity. Start your bike, dump it in a ditch 5 minutes later, crank for 5-10 seconds after a fall and it's already dead.
Leave your headlight on while you're pitching your tent without the bike running, it's dead.
Forget to unplug your GPS while you're stopped for lunch, it's dead.
If you avoid all of those things it'll be fine, but every time you kill a LiPo battery it does a lot of damage to the cells.
i got dflex handguards. forgot that the PO got wider bars, so the included mounts didnt fit. bought the big bar mounts, the handguard cant reach it nicely.

imo you can't like riding and not like wheelies.
It's a natural process of adding power to the rear wheel that the front lightens, a wheelie is just the final extension of that. If you like twisting the throttle on, you like wheelies.
Anyone who says they don't like them, generally is because they can't do it, maybe they tried it once got scared, or they couldn't do it, got frustrated and gave up. So they're lying essentially.
I mean I've never found this mythical person who can do it but doesn't like them.

NO!!
>>16368768
>everyone's had at least one crash right?
Pretty much. If there's a single person out there claiming they haven't had even a little drop, they're either lying or haven't been riding that long.
Hell, when I was racing, I crashed an average of 6-7 times a season out of 30-40 races.
>>16368857
>europeans
wtf was he doing on the ground
>>16368880
They're american tho
>>16368879
The only time I've 'crashed' is when I slipped on black ice while turning so it doesn't count
That means 6 years riding and 0 accidents
What the fuck do have all with the small 400cc drz? if you want a real Suzuki buy a DR 650 one of the last big Suzuki Tractors!
>>16368886
>crashed
>but totally doesn't count guys
I'm not saying it's always a lack of skill or anything, sometimes it's genuinely just bad luck, or a stupid drop off the sidestand or something, but everybody slips up sooner or later.
>>16368891
>Put kickstand down with bike facing slightly downhill
>>16368768
well...
What exactly am I looking at here. Are those cheap levers chinkshit, and if so, will they make me die sooner?
>>16368879
Thanks for the input, how much does painting/general repair cost?
Also o checked for internal damage and didnt see anything but didnt look too thoroughly, the crash was fairly slow but should i be worried?
>>16368886
Lucky you
>>16368891
Because they havent read the Suzuki Kick start manual! my first DR starts afterone kick when i do 3 or 4 priming kicks if i dont have my TM40 built in

Well if you can still ride home in anycase atleast you know it could have gone worse

buy the genuine!

>>16368902
They are exactly the same as the pricey ones, but either without the quality control or having failed the legit quality control
All in all they're just levers, i'd take the risk
>>16367240
and thats why you wear high boots
>>16368908
i couldnt, foot-peg broke off.
>>16368910
the rear fairing was borked as well
>>16368902
get a used oem.
and stop dropping it
>>16368903
No worries. To be honest, painting/repairing fairings is usually more expensive than just buying "new" replacement ones from ebay or somewhere. If the damage is light, you might be able to sand it down and repaint it to a pretty good standard, but it's often not much cheaper unless you can get the paint/supplies cheap from someone, or know someone who does repairs for a living.
As for more extensive damage, it's worth stripping all panels off and checking that the frame, subframe, forks/bars etc are all straight and true. You're probably fine if it was a relatively gentle off, but you should definitely check anyway, just to be sure. Also, check the engine and frame mounts for hairline cracks or anything that could indicate that the component suffered unusually high stresses.
From what I can see in the pic, it looks like you got off relatively lightly, was it your typical "lose the rear end and gently slide to a stop"?
>>16367240
>foot fell off from that slow crash
....maybe I should start wearing boots instead of running shoes
>>16368920
ankles break incredibly easy just from body weight alone if you are unlucky.
same with wrists.
You can get long-term damage just from falling of the bike. Wear fucking gear!
>>16368918
I simply lost control, thanks for the input. I know a guy do having it painted wouldnt cost as much as buying fairing + shipping in my case. But i will do have ot checked
>>16368926
I have way more control over the bike with light gloves and shoes though
>>16368929
it just feels that way.
I know its more fun feeling the wind and everything but you will get used to boots, gloves and a proper jacket and it might save your skin (literally) one day.
>that guy riding a 125/250 in full leathers

yeah those are stupid
I already got lights on my bike, why would you need something REFLECTIVE?
Get white gear if you need more visibility but dressing up like a garbage man is just pushing it.
>>16368910
>>16368909
>>16368917
thx for input, I suppose I'll buy two cheap ones and if the first ever breaks I'll have a spare.
