Hey anons,
Maybe about a week or so ago i asked some questions about changing spark plugs and i couldnt get the plugs out even though i had a spark plug socket. If anyone remembers here's an update.
I just wasnt pushing down on the socket hard enough. I was gunshy about it after reading horror stories about people crushing the porcelain. After purchasing plugs i was able to practice on the new plugs before changing them.
The other problem i had was the metal crimped end of the wire that sits on the actual plug was stuck on the plug as i removed the wire. The wire stripped right out of the boot so i had to get a whole new wire set. I know some people change the wires out at the same time anyway.
Good job anon

Thanks. Feels good to do it on your own and save some cash. One of my plugs was oil fouled though. Have any recommendations on how to deal with this or how long the car might last if i dont do the real work to fix it? Its an old car, ~200 k miles.
Just curious, should i post shit like this in a diy board? Seems this board is less about car ownership and more about arguing over stanced wheels /red light racers/etc.

Chill babe, Its a slower board, but some of us do some shit. If it's oil fouled its pretty normal for a old ass car. Check it again in like 300mi and id it's oil fouled again you got a problem. If not then you're fine. All engines naturally burn some oil.

Good job mate
Generally i twist left right left right as i pull the lead off so it comes off gradually.
dont forget the leads are susceptible to heat and do deteriorate over time. Probably not a bad idea to change them every 3 or 4 years
