C1 chassis is designed and engineered by ford, used by volvo, not the other way around.

As far as it being a mazda engine you're completely wrong. It has design similarities so the mazda series L engine, but the displacement is all it really shares.
It's cast and machined completely differently by cosworth and none of the internal parts could ever be swapped over.
Not the same engine.

The engine is derived from MAZDA tech based on the mzr.
You can twist words up all you want. Its a $50k 10 year old mazda that was built as cheaply as possible for maximum profit from anyone stupid enough to buy it.

I know that figure is with no money down and a somewhat high interest rate but it sounds absolutely terrible for what your getting. For example I pay 650 a month for a 2015 gtr black edition on a 4 year term.

>>16342323
Frosty? new car but same shitty camera?
>>
>>16344912
Nope I put 10k down and payed the taxes separately. I just got creative with the financing and use a company that offered a balloon payment system. My monthly payments stay the same till the last payment then the last payment I pay off the remaining balance. In my case I bought the car used for 77k, financed 67 and payoff at the end of the 4 years is 40k. I already had a pretty good down payment of 40k saved up so I was able to take that remaining 30k and invest it in a low growth but stable IRA. So far my investment has already reached the 40k payoff in just 1 year.

If I decide I don't want the car i can trade it in or sell it with no penalties just like any normal financed car. The only trick with doing finance this way is you have to understand the depression curve of the car very well so you don't get underwater and you have enough extra money's to add to the investment account to make the final payment. Currently I only owe about 61k on a car that's still worth about 74k so I'm well into the black with debt to worth ratio.

As a Ford driver I can see how this statement is true. There's a reason Ford started calling their dealerships 'stores'. You buy disposable shit at stores, things that are so consumable they require a STORE OF THEM. Most cars arent' disposable pieces of shit, and are thusly sold at dealerships.
>>
>>16346652
a consumable you gotta finance.

What I don't understand is why would anyone finance an RS at all (above 0% interest, I mean)? I mean, either it's a toy and you should buy it flat out because you have $$$, or if it's a daily you could get way nicer cars for similar money (the Audi S3 comes to mind).
>>
>>16346663

>>
>>16346669
Because they can't buy it outright.. you're paying for the "privileged" of credit.
Instead of saving 60k over multiple years you can instead, get credit, and invest in a different asset that will easily produce more yield (like a home) in 5 years than what you're losing on a 2% car loan.
>>
>>16346683

>>16346686
Yes, I understand what financing is, but what I'm saying is that a focus RS is a dumb purchase for a daily when there are far nicer cars that are just as fast or faster for the money. Audi S3, STI, Mustang GT, Some sort of bimmer, A huge assortment of used vehicles that are far faster (C6, M3, Carrera, CTS-V, I can keep going)
>>
>>16346690

It's reasonable for a car like that. It's pretty likely to be written off so they have to cover their asses.
>>
>>16346697
>>16346685
And yes, if your hobby is driving. 20% of your income isn't a lot to spend on it. I've spent 100% of my disposable income on racing for multiple years.

I mean this isn't unheard of. You see people in 40k BMWs all the time and they don't all pull in 60k yearly net.

You can't take it with you when you die.
>>
>>16346697

You probably shouldn't be buying a $40k "sports" car if your 401k isn't maxed. And while my compensation isn't insane, my benefits are great (6% match, education subsidies, 5 weeks off a year, in house healthcare, health benefits to match premiums)

Your right they will be taking out a longer loan. You forget this is America and we are terrible about saving money. Hell most people only have a few hundred bucks in thier account at the end of the month, and before you say that's only poor people I can tell you it's not. I work in IT and I know more than a few people that make 120k+ a year, but still somehow manage to save none of it and the real kicker is I can't tell what they are spending it on. They have some beat up 10 year old car, live in an ok house or apartment but if an unexpected expenses comes up they are sweating bullets trying to figure out how they are going to pay for it.

Student loans that can't be refinanced or forgiven by filing bankruptcy due to political lobbying by the banking institutions that prey on young Americans looking to further their educational horizons.

Are you stupid? Don't you know how financing works? The bank finance your good, but the dealer/seller gets paid in full. It has 0 (zero) correlation with the final price of a car.

This, also buy one with something like 20,000km on the odo or a demo model, all of a sudden the car is $35000 up front and your down payment of at least $10000 bumps it to $25000. Repayments are suddenly a lot less. Be smart with your money and you can give nice things and not go broke.

That's because you don't get how they think.

I'll bet you that they're probably min-maxing their money - they put literally as much as they possibly can into investments, funds, and savings in order to maximize the amount of return they're getting on their earnings.

You are right in that they are probably not saving enough... but in a totally different way than someone who literally has nothing left. These are the type of guys who are used to having no expenses and they also would rather hold a credit card balance to pay interest so they start stressing when they realize that they haven't set aside enough liquid currency to deal with those unexpected expenses.
