When do u paint a car during the restoration process?
At the start? At the end? Does it matter?

but I prefer to do body work first and paint last.

Ok Ty brah
Paint last or before the interior. That way you don't have to worry about fucking it up while you do engine work and other mechanicals.

just dont do the final blocking on the primer until you're ready to paint that way you can sand off any contaminates that might build up during the build.
but yeah I like to get everything together and fitted before I finally take it back apart and block it and paint it. I've only done panels and engine bays not an entire car, but if I was doing an entire car I would do the same order just so i dont fuck up my new paint.

I'd do it at when very end. That way you don't have to worry about scuffing or scratching a new paint job while working on it. Also if you have to place any sort of cover on it during the restoration I wouldn't want to risk it damaging the new paint
If pic related is what you want to paint, leave it be. It looks ill and siqq my dude
