Is now a bad time to spend $30-$30k on a new sport compact?
I'm sick of my current car and want to purchase a new car, but I'm scared something better will be released in a year or two.
it's always a bad time to spend money on a new car

just get an older wrx, mazdaspeed3, cobalt ss t/c, even an 8th gen si and slap a turbo to it. You'll have a car miles better than one of the latest camry's with factory rice for half the price.

30k could get you a used cayman. A cayman is never the wrong answer.

If you are buying new avoid a model that is due a facelift or replacement. You are probably better off in a 3year old car as you will get more for your money without it feeling like an old car.

Buy a used car then a newer model won't wreck your world, and you'll have bucks left over. Hell buy a used car that just had New 2017 redesign and save even more.
