I would honestly would just use my long reach to get that one if the locks are side to side and not up and down.

I have got into many fucking jeeps. Doing it the way this says is a fucking pain in the ass and you are going entirely by feel.

To do what this says with a coat hanger would be near impossible but someone somewhere might have done it b4.

I just wedge the door open and either go for the unlock button or the actual lock on the inside. That can be done with a coat hanger for sure. However dont be like the guy who fucking somehow used a 2x4 to wedge his door open and fucked it all up. still somehow could not get it unlocked even though I could fit my fucking arm through the gap he made.

The trick to getting into cars is patience.

All I can say is fuck this one. Chevy cruise is the bane of my existence. I know guys who can get into a cruise in like 10seconds. I have gone to 6 cruises and only got into 3. I just tell them to send someone else now when I get a cruise.

The malibu I think has up and down locks with the lock post exposed. I just wedge open door and use a plastic coat hanger to grab lock and pull it up.

Never heard that one before. i'll have to give that a try next time I come across a ranger.

The book isn't a end all be all answer. It comes up to personal preference. I am pretty shit at getting horizontal rods inside the door, but I kill with under glass tools and wedging doors. I know some people who cant even get under glass tools past the inside weather stripping but can grab and unlock a horizontal rod in less than 30 seconds.

Out of all the fucking tools i posted here >>16331145 I honestly only use 4
>Slim Jim (I fucking love this thing)
>Plastic coat hangar
>IDT (in door under glass up on the inside of the glass)
>Long Reach
I can use the other stuff, but with those 4 if you can start it I am 99% sure I can open it

when they send me calls to unlock shit i just go and look at how the locks are set up. wedge the sill open to peek down into the door cavity and decided then how I wanna try to get in. Hence why I couldn't find my book I don't even use it anymore unless its a car I have never even tried to get in before.
>>
Looks like the AAA manual

>The malibu I think has up and down locks with the lock post exposed.

The lock post is exposed on mine, but it is all smooth. So there is nothing to grab onto. And when locked, the post goes all the way down the hole leaving nothing even sticking out. Does that mean I have to wedge the door and find a way to grab the handle? The interior handle has a hard physical link to the lock. If I pull it, I can feel the handle tugging at the lock mechanism and finally opening it.

But looking at my handle, it is smooth and angled such a way that when mostly open, any pulling cord would want to slip all the way down to the base instead of pulling at the end of the handle. Thus it is resistant to opening.

I was hoping to avoid carrying the 2nd spare keyfob with me in my other front pocket. I miss those days when keys were nice and thin.

cont. at this point i would probably want to air wedge the door open and try to get some of that gripshit on that handle since it opens suicide style.
>>
>>16336825
I would start with plastic coat hangar since you dont need to wedge door open very far to get in in there.

try and get as close to the bottom of the post as possible. you will for sure need something the get grip on the post.

you could also rig up some string onto the PCH and try and get the string around the post pull tight and go with that.

patience and finesse will be key. you need to be able to keep pressure on the post while you pull up so it doesn't slip off.

>lock car have a few goes at it to see if you can do it.

>What does it take for your tow company to get listed as one of AAA's go-to companies for stranded members? Would they require you to have the latest 2017 book along with some other requirements?
I have no idea about this it probably depends on what area you are in. where I'm at they run their own fleet and only use contractors for shit that's way outside our area or we are just slam jammed with calls.

Try calling the local fleet near you and see what it takes if you have your own Tow company. I have heard that they are kinda shitty to contractors though. a Few locksmith guys told me that.

>What does it take for your tow company to get listed as one of AAA's

Whatever is going on, a lot of people must be abusing the heck out of AAA's tow service. It used to not have a listed limit. Then it became 5 tows per year and a premium membership version. Then 3 tows per year and 200 miles limit. It won't be surprising if they eventually change it to 1 tow/100 miles per year with regular membership and 3 tows/150/500 miles with the premium membership and only for the cars listed as part of the family set of cars.

I bet people who have problem cars figure in AAA as part of the operating expenses.

No problem. You got your keys back, so just stop the Viper the normal way by starting the car with the keys. Vipers quit when they notice a valid full start which made it past the immobilizer.

Vipers also support various situations, so you can always toggle that Viper into valet parking mode as the default. Check with your Viper user's manual on how to set various conditions. For convenience, I had the installer put a small bank of momentary button switches under the dash. It lets me press and set various settings on the viper computer that is installed deep behind the dash. That way, I don't have to stretch and peer around to look for the viper computer to press the switches on the unit itself.

OP here again just got off work gonna grab a beer read the new shit and get back to all you anons.

Since there seems to be a tad bit of confusion. I work for AAA running a tow truck. They own the truck and write my checks.

I really miss Longpost guys car stories for the dealership so i'll green text a call that I had today that I can't believe actually happened to tide you guys over and bump to the top.

>some context
we got some misty rain that turned to ice 2 days ago then it had a light snow on Sunday night. This completely fucked call times and pretty much everything cause dumbshits who don't know how to drive wreck their shit and when its cold like this it just seems to bring out the tards.

>Get call to unlock a Wrangler.

>Lady are you serious?
>Yes...
>Stare at her stonefaced for a good 30 seconds.
>Whatever its busy and I've got shit to do.
>Start unzipping the window.
>She starts semi wigging out. No I don't want you to do that stick something in my door and unlock it.
>Stare at her again for a good minute this time.
>So you know there is nothing wrong with this window? You know it unzips...
>No I'm not sticking anything in your door.

Mustang a ford with up and down locks you could make a slim jim work on this too. but be careful cause I know you can pop the rod off the bell crank then you have to open the door panel and put it back together once you get in. Even worse when you pop the rod and it doesn't unlock have to hit the other door and pray you dont fuck that one up too.

If you not careful with this one the door will eat your tool and you will have to take the panel off to get it back once you unlock it

Fun fact for everyone.

All cars only use 3 different type of lock setups.

>Vertical rod
>Horizontal rod
>bellcrank

Look inside car look at locks and no matter the car if you can figure out which 3 of these it is you can just wing it.

Not counting in real new shit with electronic solenoids and no actual linkage see>>16331438
