>What's the best shoes to drive in
It depends on the car and weather. I have no desire to change shoes as soon as I enter or leave a car. So the shoes worn in the car must be the ones I also walk around in. Since I don't want different types of shoes based upon rain, snow, or sunshine, those driving shoes must also be suitable to wear in those three situations.

This means simple slippers and sandals are not suitable nor are high heels in the case of women. But I do know lots of women who do change in and out of high heels when driving.

Feiyue. They're like $15 shipped on a slow boat from china and are essentially a piece of rubber with some canvas attached to it. If you have skateboard grip tape on your pedals the grip is great as well. I don't see any reason to spend more than 15bux on driving shoes after having these, unless you need SFI approved shoes for racing.

Maybe if you're driving an automatic, otherwise Adidas won't be optimal because the sole is too thick. Shoes designed for tennis or long distance running will generally be too springy or stiff for rapid pedal action.

Minimalist running shoes like the Nike Free are usually my go-to when driving, simply because of the superb control over every possible foot position while providing the tensile strength that a shoe provides. NB makes some minimalist shoes, in case you're a Nazi and support Trump.

Loafers are okay if you're driving a boat or a landbarge. Otherwise they're some of the worst shoes to drive in.

Any boot that goes over your heel will need to be very well broken in before you drive in it, unless of course you're driving automatic, but that's not really driving.

Racing shoes like Alpinestars are basically minimalist shoes with padding in the right places.

>What's the best shoes to drive in and why is it pic related?

My usa state has not outlawed sandals and flipflops, but it recommends they not be used as footware in driving. It mentions there are times the accelerator pedal can get caught and thus cause a delay in transferring your foot to depress the brake.

The only correct answer are chucks (or any flat sole tennis shoe), actual driving shoes, or wrestling shoes.

Everyone else in this thread are fucking wrong.

I love my wrestling shoes because I use them for four things. Wrestling like a faggot, driving at the track, sim racing (like a faggot), and squatting.
>>
>>16325884

No.

The only time gloves are needed is if you're wheel is wrapped in alcantera, helps grip it better and it keeps it clean; it's a fucking BITCH to clean.

Other than that, you don't need them.

Light cloth gloves are good if your hands sweat a lot. It wicks off the moisture and prevents a sticky steering wheel feeling.

My old school vans are my most comfy driving shoes dude. Maybe its cos I was wearing an original pair years and years ago when I first learned to drive
>>
>>16323304
I like shoes with support and a stiff sole. That sort of lets me rest the weight of the shoe on the bottom backside of the heel with the shoe and foot nearly vertical on the accelerator pedal. I don't want thin soles where I can feel the pedal or any of its edges. That's too edgy for me although a lot of the edgy people in here like feeling things thru the soles of their shoes.

If it is a long cruise with cruise control, I will switch shoes from the daily walking pair to the all fabric top shoes for extra breathing over the leather shoes.

If I am heading downtown, the best shoes are running shoes in case I have to take off due to any aggressive people. I have to wear them while driving because the time spent parked and switching shoes means people have time to approach the car and wait for you to open the door.

I have a '90 SL and I wear gloves while driving, especially when it's cold, but I'd kill myself before wearing gloves in a modern car. My friend has M Sport gloves for his 7 speed 740i and that's about as far as I'd go.
>>
>>16329412
Can confirm. Aside from having size 13 feet and getting my toe caught on the brake pedal from time to time, I love driving in dress shoes.
>>
>>16323304
tfw when have no basis for determining how good/bad your shoes are for driving and you've only worn Merrell Moab Ventilators for the last year and a half after starting to wear them regularly moving out of your old house.

I need to break out my Air Monarch IVs and see if they're still in good shape. My aforementioned hiking boots are actually falling apart now and due for replacement.

The sole was cracked after three months, was really worn out after six.
kept them for about a year, didn't even realize I was basically walking barefoot until I got a new pair and felt the difference of stiffness on the ball of my foot.

Sneakers are fine to me. I always try to use sneakers to drive.
But objectively the ebst shoes for driving are driving shoes, you know, like the ones that professional racers use, they are more or less cheap and easily affordable, but you can't walk with them and they deteriorate pretty fast.

I pretty much stick with running shoes until winter time. never really understood the appeal of the more solid sneakers and whatnot, I prefer the flexibility and breathability of the kinda running shoes i have. since its winter now im wearing a pair of columbia gunnison winter boots and its taking some getting used to since I got less space to move my feet now

It was revolutionary due to the fact that the mainstream USA Americans did not know anything about Japanese vehicles or other cars in general.

It sparked a movement that even to this day reverberates with all sorts of ethnic backrounds; especially those that live in Los Angeles. People didn't know they liked street racing, even more cars as a hobby.
