For one, a 2JZ can be made to produce more power than an LS with much less money.

As for the FD, it's because the FD is a rotary car. It's part of its appeal. It's a good car but its chassis is nothing to write home about. It's the Wanker that sets it apart and give it the unique traits that rotary cars have.

Maybe because RX-7s were made to have rotaries? If you've driven one before then you'd know why. Throwing in any other engine makes it a completely different car.
