I understand most (if not all) of the twin-clutch transmissions are faster in almost all regards compared to a traditional manual, but why not at least have the manual option?

Yeah I just checked and the manual M3 is still made for Europe. The M5 hasn't been available in manual here since 2003. Only North America got the E60 and F10 6 speeds.
