Does anybody else fucking hate cleaning their car?
It takes so long to even do a basic job, and doing any proper detailing would take me forever.

And then it seems like right after I clean it, it's covered in dirt and dead bugs again.

I'm tempted to buy a pressure washer just to save some time.
>>
>>16316093
pressure washer makes things 100 times easier
just blast it for a couple minutes whenever
>>
>>16316104
Do you need that foam stuff, or is the water generally enough by itself?

But yeah, fuck washing. When I was cleaning my car today I noticed that the weather stripping stuff on the roof had started to peel, and there was a solid two decades of sludge under it. Cleaning that out was fun.
>>
>>16316093
>>16316104
be careful with pressure washers

use them from a distance so you're not effectively blasting your paint off
>>
>>16316125

I've got a bunch of crows that live in a tree outside the house

They dive bomb my car with shits in the early hours of the morning, when I'm never around to throw shit at them. Just today I counted 4 new enormous crow-sized shits covering my car.

I even bought a cover specifically for my car, but it's a pain putting it on and off every day.
I just want to clean my car, and let it steadily get dirty until I clean it again. Instead my car remains shiny as fuck and covered in enormous bird shits.
>>
>>16316207
For me it's bats.

If you think bird shit is bad, you don't want to know what it's like having bat shit all over your car.
It's thick, brown and has visible bits in it.
It's also far bigger than any bird shit.

Fairly low mileage on some of these, and it figures the coupes would hold their value fairly well. But these cunts are kidding themselves if they think anyone is going to pay that much.

At those prices it'd be cheaper just to buy a Monaro and turbo or supercharge it, or drop in an even meaner, more modern LS engine and do the exterior up (minus those ugly scoops) like its HSV counterpart. And the insurance wouldn't bite anywhere near as badly.

Purists might wring their hands but as long as it's quick enough who's going to question it?

Cunts can have 'em, and the Gen-F models for good measure. All I want is an E-series Maloo that rattles the glass of everything around it.

Pressure washer + soap attachment, Hot water with microfiber hand mitt and a cold water bucket for rinsing. Takes 30 minutes and 10 mins to dry with a microfiber towel. If you really care about your car you will take your time and do it at home with quality products instead of doing it at a carwash with their junky soap that dries quicker than dick.

If you are really lazy. Pressure Washer + Attachment, Mitt to scrub out the bird shit and dry it with a leaf blower.

If Tone were still in this might've been a possibility. Cunt was talking about deregulating imports since Ford and Lolden were going down the dunny. Stealerships and some other group were having a fit about "dangerous imports".

I want to bitch and moan for a little minute.

Pram parking spots. Fuck RIGHT off with that. So because you're breeding and seeding this world with your retarded kids you feel privileged enough to get your own parking spots, in most cases closer to shops? Not to mention, you have the GALL to complain that disabled spots are closer and more numerous?

Just die, sub-humans. It was your choice to have kids so fucking deal with it while I park in your spots.

Fun fact. These spots aren't legal in a Victoria, there is no fine or no anything that can happen to you for "parking in a parental pram" spot.

Not sure about other states but I fucking park in those spots all the time. The same rule applies for "Pink spots" (women only) - there is no law saying Men can't park there.

On the books the only spots you can't park in without permit is disabled spots.

Can someone here give me a quick rundown of what I could expect from a $1000 Falcon in SA?

I've never really cared much for the older models, but I got to drive a clapped out old EL today and it was actually pretty comfy and pulled very smoothly.

Would any Falcon I can get for under a grand make a worthwhile daily? I know how to wrench, just looking for something comfy and airconditioned.

As for a daily it depends on the milage and how its been maintained.

>>16323636
Yeah. Neither GM, Ferd, or Dodge will sell proper trucks here in Australia. Ford sells the Ranger and GM sell the Colorado but neither of the two have as much grunt or are as large as the F150. We do get a lot of other little dinky tradie utes like the Mazda BT50, Chinese Great Wall shit, but they're cheap and nasty and won't last very long. Interiors on them are garbage.

Toyota sell the 70 series Landcruiser, but the turbo diesel V8 in them aren't anywhere near as good as a Cummins or Powerstroke. Standard, they put out about 330ft/lb of torque and 175hp, so they're pretty rubbish if you want to tow anything heavier than a boat. Reliable though.

So given that GM and Ferd refuse to sell a proper truck here, an Australian who wants something decent is forced to import them from the US. Given that they're already about $50k US dollars, that comes out to about $80k dollary doos after currency conversion and then shipping it here. Then you have to pay an authorised engineering shop to convert it to RHD so you can drive it legally on roads here. That's another $40k dollary doos.

So when all is said and done, a new truck here will start at $120k and go up from there. It's a sad reminder that despite Australia's seeming economic success... the US still has us well and truly beat when it comes to disposable income per capita, and access to top tier vehicles.

So who here has played around with aftermarket ECU's? Looking at getting a Haltech something for my tofu delivery shitbox, not really sure where to start. From Japan it has been running what I believe to be the standard ECU and an Ultra MDI ignition system, but the tune seems ludicrously rich and it sometimes seems to stumble and not run well on occasion.
>>
>>16325945
So go to a dyno and get it flashed.

You need to have a reason for an aftermarket ecu otherwise it's pointless.
>>
>>16325958
I thought factory ECUs were locked?
>>
>>16326023
I'm not sure about that. I don't know the details, but I think pre-certain year before CAN they could be whatever they wanted - and many of these have been reverse engineered. Any ROM can be flashed if you can read it.

anyway,
http://www.speedhunters.com/2015/08/knowledge-boost-reflashing-versus-standalone-ecu/

if all you want is a simple re-tune after ruling anything else out, without leaving the original parameters or functions of the stock ecu the you just need a reflash.

if you wanted for instance egts or iats to affect something, or sequential injection, timing control on a distributor car, etc only then would you really need a standalone module or aftermarket ecm

but, my thought is your engine troubles are unrelated to the tuning, although a tune couldn't hurt. I'm sure they left some power on the table from the factory.

>but, my thought is your engine troubles are unrelated to the tuning
That's my thinking as well, which is why I'm trying to rule out some of the easier stuff now - injector cleaning, new plugs, timing, etc. I wouldn't mind having the aftermarket ECU regardless, it'll give me far better control over the engine if I eventually get bigger cams for it.

You're playing the numbers bench racing game too much. The 330lb/ft the 1VD in the J70 Cruiser offers more than adequate grunt to pull its GCM of close to 7 tonne, and it'll work all day in some of the most arid conditions doing it.

Looking purely at the peak torque rating (whilst seemingly intentionally ignoring the way that torque is delivered) makes me think you've probably never towed anything substantial.
>>
>>16325353
Madcunt hahah
>>
>>16323679
Also worth noting the Colorado you mentioned only has an 18lb/ft deficit in peak torque output to the F150 that was exampled. And that's not taking into account the F150 requires another 1000rpm to manage that torque peak.

Albury? That can't be right, that's a Wagga thing.

Even Wagga is pretty tame in comparison to some of the smaller towns further out, particularly the ones up in the north west. Traveling to Brisbane in early January, stopping halfway at Moree for a night. Pray for me.

Sure m8, I mean it's not like there's a bunch of old F150s driving around in the deserts of Arizona and New Mexico, or the Appalachians, with more than 500k miles on them.

The only reason the LC is so successful here is because GM and Ford refuse to sell us decent trucks. Instead we get fucking shitheaps like the Ranger that are designed for third world countries then kitted out with first world amenities for the Aussie market.

>The only reason the LC is so successful here is because GM and Ford refuse to sell us decent trucks.
They've (Ford in particular) tried selling us fullsize multiple times, but they simply don't sell. Rio trialled a small batch of Rams about ten years ago when the 6.7 was relatively new, and they simply didn't stand up to the conditions the same way the then current HZJ79 Cruisers or even midsize Hiluxs did.
>Instead we get fucking shitheaps like the Ranger that are designed for third world countries then kitted out with first world amenities for the Aussie market.
Because they meet our criteria and again, handle the conditions. We don't require the need to pretend our pick-ups are prime movers.
