Sorry if this is a dumb question
Sidewall remaining the same, can I go from a 205 width tire to a 215?
Pls respond
probably. you'd want to change both tires on the drive axle if you've got a limited slip.
if you've got an open diff and no abs/traction control you can really fuck around with tire sizes.

If by sidewall remaining the same, you mean that they are like 215/45R16 and 205/45R16, then you really shouldn't unless you are changing all 4.
If all you have is an open diff, and you don't mind disabling your ABS, you can, but it's a turbopoorfag thing to do.

I do have abs and traction control
I would of course replace all 4
How do I know what kind of differential I have?

4wd/awd or FF/FR?
Most "regular dildo" cars will have an open diff and that's good enough. Specifically what car and trim.
Also if you replace all 4 its a non-issue. It'll affect your speedo reading though. going from 205/60/16 to 215/60/16 as an example. Your speedo will under-read by a certain margin.
You can find a tire calculator online to find out how much exactly it'll be off by

Front wheel tragic
Could the speedo be fixed by a tune?
>>16310611
maybe? theres speedo "fixers" out there but you're likely only off by like 5% so its not a huge deal especially when all 4 wheels are "off" by the same margin

Yes, you should be fine.
Ask me how I know..

By off do you mean the speedo will read lower or higher than I am actually going?
Why does this happen anyway? I'm not changing the diameter of the wheel, maybe the weight slightly, it is the weight?

Perhaps this picture helps?
You're changing the tire size, marginally, but you are changing it.
