Was thinking of buying one of these to put a new pipe on it, do some simple tuning mods and have 65+mph fun.
I have a full bike licence, but haven't ridden a motorbike for 15 years and don't want/need a big bike as I have a car for getting around.
Thoughts?

My first bike was the 50cc version of this, when I was 16.
It's actually pretty comfortable, handles good and the only issue I had was the brakes seizing up - which was an easy solve; something to do with the brakes not releasing properly because there was too much rubber in there.

>65mph fun
Try 30mph fun downhill

Don't be fat. Have narrow shoulders. Maybe hit 60mph in full tuck. Still fun.

Even the 50cc can reach around 35-40 on flat, anon.

cool, I'm nearly fifty, I've had big bikes and vespa scooters and mopeds in my time.
but I want something little like that to tinker with, I don't need a touring bike or a sports bike just something fun for weekend rides and sunny days ride to work.

i dropped $3500 into my 50cc scooter... top speed is still only 80mph

>throwing that much money at a 50
For what purpose?

80 out of a fifty is going good.!
Screwing the throttle wide open on a smaller engine and going flat out can be as good fun as a 200 mph superbike.

Shits and giggles mostly. The speed limit where i live is 35mph i originally bought it to save money on gas and insurance, got bored driving around at WOT all the time and started modding for speed
now i have a very fast, very unreliable scooter. and the money i had intended to put into my project truck is gone
