The original hot hatch.
>3.8-4.6L inline-6 or 5.0L V8
>3000lbs
>this is what americans think is a hot hatch
there were hot hatches out before the Pacer ever hit a showroom floor
>>16290505
yeah its a warm turd at best
only in america is a 1970s hatchback that weighs 1.5 tons considered "hot"
>>16290546
and one with sloppy everything and an engine that dies at 4000rpm (inb4 mjet)
it's a piece of shit
>>16290505
I don't know what this guy's on, even in burgerland it's well known that the Rabbit/Golf GTI is the quintessential hot hatch.
>>16290492
>Aperature size the picture.
>>16290581
the quintessential hot hatch is a clio williams or 205 gti
>>16290589
Bruh
>>16290599
That is a liftback.
>>16290599
not a hatch
I want to get one and do the following
>replace leaf springs with coilovers
>lower it about 3 inches
>put on 10 degrees of negative camber
>install green 5 spoke deep dish lightweight wheels
>use mpss for the front
>usespecial tires optimized for creating green smoke on the rear
>weld in a roll cage
>install 2 hydraulic e-brakes, one for front, one for rear
>install carbon ceramic drilled and slotted brakes
>swap in a Honda f20c and install a supercharger
>install a sequential dogbox
>install a welded diff
>replace windows with acrylic
>put on a matte black wrap
>paint chrome trim pieces green
>strip interior
>install sparco seats
I'd use that thing for so many drift events
>>16290708
you'd be only able to get 0 degrees of camber in the back, senpai
>>16290610
You'd be amazed at how much the engine in those fuckers weights. They're pretty solid and can be boosted over 400hp without a hiccup but HOLY FUCK, the F7P/F7R engine a boat anchor.
>>16290783
I believe it. I still want one. Or a clio 182 cup. or an R26 megane
Sure
>>16290492
only because their rotary wasnt ready in time. no their rotor wasnt 3 lobed like mazdas it was 4 lobed. and was stillborn at the wrong time.
>>16290599
how is that comparable to a golf gti?
>>16290492
this was the orinal hot hatch first converted by john cooper works in the 60s good try op but no hero biscut for you...
>>16290755
I just said I was gonna replace the leaf springs with coilovers
>>16291134
>muh coilovers
stop posting you stupid fuck
>>16291166
what's wrong with coilovers?
Even if that bloated pos could in some way be considered a hot hatch, it was still 4 years too late to be the first
>>16290492
My son told me Finn MacMissile straight fucked that car up.
>>16291173
If coil overs could somehow transform a live rear axle into something that could have camber you'd be some kind wizard
>>16290492
Hey I own that car :^)
>>16292015
since when is fabrication considered wizardry?
>>16292970
coils dont magically make a car be able to have camber
>>16290599
You're a fucking idiot.
>>16290492
>Kenoshafag here.
These were absolute garbage even when they were new and anyone who has chosen to preserve this trash is a doodooheaddummy.
>>16290610
>>16290604
>>16293016
Bruh
>>16292970
I don't think you understand how a solid axle works
>>16293070
It's just a bit of fabrication bro
custom bro
:^)
>>16293048
still not a hot hatch otherwise the term loses it's meaning
>>16293048
Don't bother. They're being stupid and semantic. A liftback is a type of hatchback.
>"Durr it's not a hatchback"
>>16293108
well done on missing the point
>>16293092
It loses it is meaning, huh?
>>16293118
uhh many cars trucks and suvs had coilovers on solid axle
nice damage control tho
>>16293118
>Never seen a proper 4 link LRA
>>16293162
It's okay bro you don't need to post, we can manage without you
>>16293118
>why the fuck would someone install coilovers on a solid axle?
To go fast
>>16293170
>>16293160
ok fine you got me on that
but I really was intending to put an independent rear axle on the pacer
>>16293211
There's almost no point unless you want to be a special snowflake at hard parking meets
>>16290505
>>16291091
kek @ eurofags that thinks OP is serious
Everyone knows the pacer is one of the shittiest cars of all time
>>16293211
>intending to put an independent rear axle on the pacer
Exactly zero reason to switch to IRS from solid axle, unless you're really looking for the ultimate in road comfort.
I can't seem to find the article, but there was a 1st gen Camaro that ran autox competitively that switched to IRS after racing previous seasons with the solid rear axle. They went slower with the IRS.
If you have half a clue what you're doing when it comes to suspension, a solid rear axle will let you take corners faster than 99% of cars on the road.
It's an autism car and I love it. :)
>>16290492
>no one bringing up the gremlin x
What the fuck is this shit
>>16294042
So because ONE isolated event with a car in a magazine you can't find went slower in auto-x with IRS, IRS is slower? Oh fuck off...
Even a propper four linked and wattlinked volvo 740 still has less corner grip than the 940.
The solid axle is better in taking a beating, easier to control in a drift, and better grip in a straight line. Also (close to) no alignment issues.
>>16290492
Dodge omni was the best though
>>16290708
go trash your g35 shitbox u faggot
