The road is literally broken. This particular road connects to a bunch of other shit, Namely angels crest highway.

However it's in complete disrepair in some areas and my guess is LA county doesn't give enough fucks to repave it through as it really doesnt go anywhere that Angels crest doesn't already cover.

It's open to that point is so that people can get to Crystal Lake. Past that its just an empty mountain road with parts that have washed out/crumbled due to lack of maintenance.

The reason they originally closed it was due to one of the big fires way back when.

Forestry and sherrif is up the 39. Neither of them drivethe closed section of road. it's closed literally all the time and that gate is never opened (except by me).

I've ridden through there and the same boulders are blocking the road from rock falls and no sherrif, forrestry, or caltrans crew moved them out of the way to drive through.

If you go in there and lock the gate behind you literally no one will know you are there for a very long time.

It's a blast to hit on my bike, but I'm always careful when I go in there alone because if I stuff it no one is coming for me, no one can get to me, and there no way to call anyone for help.

I wish more people had mudflaps in general. Rock chips with highway driving are irritating. But now that sand is also used on roads, the grit makes all those micro chips or the sand imbeds itself into the clearcoat and needs claying to be removed.
